tweety
I posted a little review with some notes about the super cheap Cheetah windscreen. Check it out if you're interested: http://dave.antiflux.org/bird/windscreen/ Here is a sample of one of the photos I took: I'm experiencing some weirdness with a silent spot that I can find when I crouch down low. (like chin on tank low) But when I lift my helmet shield, the silent spot moves up so I can see over the screen. Anyone else find this at all with their aftermarket screens? (I mention this in the review)

xrated
First of all, nice job on the write up and report with pics. I've been using the Cheetah SST for a couple of years now and really like the way that it looks, although I seem to have some wind turbulence that causes an oscillation sometimes. It doesn't happen all the time, so it's got me baffled as to the source of it, as it comes and goes. I can be riding along at a relaxed pace (say 65 70 MPH) and all of a sudden out of nowhere, an oscillation sets up causing my helmet to be pushed side to side, back and forth. I don't know if it is the SST or if something else is going on. But....I digress. It's a great looking windscreen and basically I'm happy with mine. Pete in PA
Vern, are you in a semi's slipstream when this happens? even a ways back.
tweety
Yeah, wind blast is puzzling sometimes. I haven't had any side to side movements though. Anyone else with a Cheetah? Come on, I know you're out there.. (Jim, Obby, all the rest of you cheapos who'll only buy a new windscreen if it's $15) The screen is awesome if I flip my helmet sheild up. I can crouch down comfortably and have VERY little noise. Unfortunately the shield keeps slamming down. i'm thinking of wearing sunglasses and duct taping up the shield.. would look pretty silly... :???:

TOXXIC
Nice write-up. Currently I have the ZG Double Bubble; which is nearly impossible to tuck behind. My SST arrived last week, I plan on installing it on the next rainey day I'm not working.

tweety
Dave its time to pry open the wallet a little bit wider and buy a new helmet, even my cheap HJC shield stays open at full blast  But my helmet IS an HJC! :???: (although it is an older CL-11 model... they're up to around CL-15 now?) Don't get me wrong, if I'm sitting up normally the shield stays up no problem, just when I try to tuck down just looking over the windscreen it slams down. In this position the helmet shield is actually at an angle to the wind, so the wind is pushing down on it. Hard to explain.
willxx23
I have the cl-14, it ratchets open and closed very stiff never had a prob with it being blown shut. maybe the older models loosen up over time you could try to get a new shield maybe that would help.

I'll probably need a whole new helmet, I've almost had that for 4 years anyway. For now, duct tape it is!
urloozn
I don't have the cheetah. I didn't like the way it looked. I just go tthe Givi DH196 (no lip, it gets higher at the front) but haven't had a chance to ride with it yet. I'll keep you posted.
