county
I just bought a 99XX that already had higher handlebars installed (Look like Heli-bars). The clutch line gets pretty tight at times - has anybody you guys know of ever worn a hole in or ruptured that line in this situation? ledcat
I had heli bars on my 98 xx. I thought even after dremeling off the banjo tab thingies, and adjusting the banjo bolts, everything still felt a little too tight for my taste. That said I road it for about 20k without a problem, until I crashed and wasted one of the bars. Keep an eye out for your throttle cables @ full lock. I started wearing a hole in one, it was rubbing at full lock, like when I was parking or turning around. I wrapped it to prevent further wearing. JJP XX
I put Heli Bars on my 02 and I noticed that the clutch line was very tight. What I did was follow the line down to the frame and unbolted it. I moved the rubber bushing and slightly bent the line so that I had more slack. Works well. I too will take a dremel tool to remove a tab by the clutch line by the hydraulic cylinder so that I can rotate my clutch lever down a bit. My 97 XX had this done to it and had zero problems with the clutch lines.
