rear hub cush drive rubbers.

Since it's VERY slow in the garage and I've been wondering this here goes.

In 99 they made these rubbers 12% stiffer to reduce driveline lash. I've been noticeing more lash lately in my bike even with a properly adjusted chain.

When these rubbers age, do they get softer or harder?

Will the new ones fit on my bike, a 98?

Do they even make 2 different part #'s or just 1 replacement # for all years?

Are they expensive?

Should I not bother for what I'll get out of it?

i'd be interested in post mortem autopsy pics of these cush drive rubbers (old vs new) after you swap them out?

Well I changed out my rubbers. While doing it I noticed the old ones were slightly distorted, (bent). The first thing I noticed was I couldn't put the sprocket carrier back in. With the old ones it slipped in with ease. I had to lube them with silicone spray, then it went on tightly.

On the road I do notice less lash in the driveline so well worth the $32.

BTW I also have a B'stone 020 on the rear and a Metzeler Z6 on the front and it handles and sticks great.

While changeing the tire myself I found the 020 to be VERY stiff and hard to lever on. The Metzeler was WAY easier to mount. Yet the 020 isn't stiff over bumps while riding. Weird :???:

Maybe this will translate into better mileage out of the 020.

If not Road Attacks next.

41241-MAT-000 are the individual rubbers.......'bout $10 each.

06410-MAT-E00 is the set of 4.........$32 from ronayers.

Joe, how did you find the package deal for $32.00 at ronayers? Do they also have deals like this on other multi parts?

BTW, when you look at the drawings like the one above, anytime there is a "box" with the part number and another part numbers inside, that means you can buy it as the set or individuall parts....

Look at the wheel, you can buy it complete or just the components.....

The only thing sometimes is, you can't buy the main part by itself - like the rim in this case....

Cheers,
