I never had my XX's go out but I think the one on my 919 is. Notice how it gets better when revved up and it also seems to get quieter when totally warmed up. You can hear it on the side with the CCT but it's the loudest near the alternator. I already took that cover off and everything looks perfect. Bike only has 12K
