  6. Call off the dogs, I got it. I beleive there was air in the master cylinder. Here is the fix: I pulled the slave off while leaving the hose intact on both the master and the slave. with the cap off off the resivior I used the clutch lever to push the slave forward, and then I returned the slave with my thumb. I repeated this process over and over a few times untill I saw the bubbles diminish. I think that process will effectivley eliminate having to use a vacuum pump to bleed the clutch. Thanks any way! I'm hoping to see some of you all at FIM World Superbike next weekend! Trailfly.
  7. Help! Damnit! Ok, my clutch won't bleed out and build pressure sufficient to push the clutch rod in. I replaced the mastercylinder rod and rubber parts with new OEM stuff and it still won't bleed. I cleaned the hose out, took off the lower assembly that covers the clutch rod and I couldn't see anything that could prevent it from building pressure, I re-assembled, and the bastard STILL won't bleed. Any clues? Thanks. Trailfly
  8. I'm in for a set. I'll send you a PM. Thanks man!!!!
  9. I remember seeing some tidbits on some modification regarding a wiring loom on the 1999 Blackbird. Anybody have any clues? I have a phantom intermittent problem with my 1999.
  10. 3000 miles with a lead wrist. I run pilot roads. It seems like I have to WHACK the throttle off just about every light.

    Testing

This is a test, please disregard
  12. Anyone have one for sale? I think mine is on the fritz.
  13. Nope, as stated the starter engages perfectly and the motor turns over with ferocity. Of course, if the spark plugs were more accessable I would check to see if it were making spark the next time this happens.
  14. Nope, The kickstand saftety switch disables the starter motor. As I said, the motor turns over healthily.
  15. Nope, All fresh. Turns over as healthily as my Fiance' when I'm going to hit it from behind.
  16. Once in a great while my 99 PGMI Bird decides it doesn't want to start (usually like when you ride to a store close by). What I have noticed is if you get the bike rolling just enough to disengage the clutch and maybe get a revolution of the crank, then stop, pull in the clutch and pow it starts. Any ideas? The frequency of this occorence has been maybe 3 times in 200 starts.
  17. Well said. I LOVE my bird. Best bike on the planet, bar none.
  18. The Stupid mother fuckers at the Honda Dealership were the root of the problem. I had them channg the oil, chain, sprokets, coolant, and flush the system. If you recall, the bike ran great at highway speeds and never once overflowed. I put several hundred miles on the cycle without the slightest hint of a problem, but as soon as I was using the Bird around town the problem surfaced, blowing boiling coolant out the resivour and then sucking the resivour totally dry. I replaced cap, thermostat, pulled the fucking radiator out, yadayadayada, and last night I figured it out. The fucking wingnut numbskull Honda mechanic crossed the thermostat line with the coolant resivour line. As the lines are underneath the tank and seat, it was difficult for me to pick up the error. Makes perfect sense now. And the stupid cocksucker service write up asshole was CERTAIN that my bike had a blown headgasket! FUCK!!!! I was baffled, befuddled. For fucks sake. Anyway, it was a happy end to a sad stoy, and a pathetic dealership. THanks to all that contributed.
  19. Ok, so how do I "burp the system properly"? Like Truerotor2 says, by getting it hot while the radiator cap is off, and letting it slowly go to boilover, and then cap it? Do you all think it could still be the new radiator cap that I replaced? What I don't get is all the steam that is emitted from the overflow resivour. I have never seen that before.
  20. New cap and thermostat, yes. Oil level is up, yes. I am baffeled.
  21. Ok, My 99 Bird starts running hot in around town type riding, maybe 3/4ths up on the temp guage. Overflow gets full, then overflows, then you cool the bike down and it sucks everybit of what is in the overflow back in, leaving the resivor empy, and subsequently also leaving the radiator less than full. I did a full check the routing of hoses, replaced the thermostat, replaced coolant to correct levels, start the bike, and it is circulating coolant. I went out and and it repeated this problem. Note that there is no coolant contamination in the oil, or oil contamination in the coolant. Also that when it is pushing coolant into the overflow resivour it is boiling, steaming. Any clues?
