  1. I would think the factory would gladly fix it for you at reasonable cost. That was always the case when Mike Valentine owned Passport.
  2. 3M adhesive remover, NAPA usually has it
  3. +1 Some of the aie that passes through the radiator actually goes down the front of the block and pushes exhaust heat away from the radiator. By Removing or modifying the lower scoop, you could screw that all up, increasing radiant heat transfer and metal fatigue. Leave it alone. Thanks, that is exactly the input I was looking for.
  4. Not overheating, just curious about lowering the running temp some
  5. The lower cowl behind the front wheel and below the radiator is solid and I wonder if it had a 1x6 slot or 2 slots cut in if the extra air would cool the bike better? Anybody tried this?
  6. These guys, compact horn, 139 db http://adventurersworkshop.com/Merchant2/m...tebel_Air_Horns
  7. I have a Bagster Tank Bag for sale, black. PM any interest
  8. The high and low beam bulbs/wiring are separate from the factory. Install the modulator to the high beam wiring, and the HID to the low beam. Do a search for the HID group buy for install info Edit: Group buy thread resurrected, scroll down on this page
  9. The Speedohealer started reading 0 while riding and then reading correctly. Speedohealer was quick to respond and confident of a cure, mostly a loose or dirty connection. When I opened the rubber bellhousing that the connections were in, there was oil inside, clean but covering both connections. It isn't dirty greasy like chain fling off but motor oil. Where did the oil come from? Is there a crancase vent on the back of the engine? There is no oil resting on top of the gearbox housing. Anyone else run into something like this? It is an '03 BTW

  11. "When I do go about striping the wheels, at least I have one thing going for me. I don't think that being down here in FLa is nearly as corrosive an enviroment as where I was up in NY. The bike used to be stored in a small barn, now it's garaged." A Ziebart chart shows the Florida coastline as high a corrosion zone as the Great Lakes because of the salt air. Clearcoat your finished product
  12. These guys can help: http://www.race-tech.com http://www.traxxion.com I had a CBR 900 shock modified and while an improvement, you are better off to wait and get an Ohlins Wilbers or Penske. I went to an Ohlins, and most who did a 900 mod upgraded to aftermarket.
  13. A clutch lever if your not gonna take a cable
  14. I want one of these.. think it will fit in the stock horn position?? or tucked in behind one of the side fairings.. I hung this off the steering neck loosely so it moves with the forks. Its got some wear but works fine after 2 1/2 years. Stock horn position it will show below the Ram-Air vent. The horn is the size of a softball so the side fairing install woud be creative.
  15. I've got one of these 139 db farkles http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productlist/539
  16. www.factorypro.com has good carb tuning info
  17. A 240 volt element should draw about 17 amps. The easiest way to check your element is to: Unplug the heater, do not trust the c/b to be marked correctly Disconnect 1 wire from each element. The red/blue on the same thermostat pole leave connected. Plug the heater back in and check for 110 across the element. An ohmmeter will give a false reading. It sounds as though the upper element is bad, in which case you get no hot water. If the lower is bad you get a little hot water and run out quickly.

    ECM Testing

Is there a place that can test the ECM for function? All tests for my cooling fan are OK and the service manual says its time for a new ECM. Would a Power Commander affect the fan?
  19. Traxxion Dynamics has springs for the 900RR.
  20. Pulled the connector apart by the fan and it started fine with a jumper from the battery. Will work from the relay now, fuse is fine.
  21. The cooling fan usually starts at 215 degrees but did not start today. I removed the left plastic and at 230 degrees at the wires closest to the fan, there was voltage in both wires, but the fan did not operate. Where do I go from here?
  22. Cold air is more dense so more air flows in and to keep the air/fuel ratio constant more fuel flows in also. Would it effect your mileage that much? No clue, I've run out of brains in the middle of a post....
  23. Instructions come with the speedohealer, simple plug in and program, very easy and straightforward.
  24. Thanks VooDoo, I bit the bullet and ordered an Ohlins today.
