Hi Jim, temp shows 225+ at just two stops..maybe I'm nuts but that seems too hot..Driving at or around 30mph in 3rd stays around 210-220

Well took a quick ride into the city, stopped at two Red signals and the bird was HOT. Only in the upper 80's today the 100+ degrees would have killed it for sure. That was a main concern about the bird was heat. I need to ride in city at times. Hate to say but looks like I'll be in the marget for something else. That was one of the reasons for selling the V65 bike just couldn't handle stop and go traffic. :cry:

BTW which oil filter wrench you guys use? One I used wasn't the best in the world for sure.

Local dealer doesn't carry the crush washer for the drain plug: What are the odds of leaking without replacing the crash washer?

Anyone know for sure if the 2001 and 2002 Blackbird uses the same oil filter? I want to use only Wix but they list only the 2001 model thanks

I heard both sides on water wetter...works and doesn't work. About the only thing I found to work is to avoid city traffic as much as possible.

Anyone done this by just loosen the allen bolt on each clipon, and raise it about 3/4"? I want to try this mod but the handlebars support so much weight I'm afraid these could come loose. Which would be a very very bad thing to happen. thanks

I used Rotella in my V65, did changes at 1500 miles. The hot summers here is tough on any oil.

Think the owner of my bikke before used Mobil One, but myself I like Rotella.
