  1. Is this the plug for "all" XX's? I have a 97 and want to replace my plugs. Is this what I should get?
  2. I do remember I had to take the carbs out but I wasn't sure how much I would have to do to get to the screws. I set them at 2 1/2 turns
  3. When I first installed the jets and rode the bike it was around 40-45deg F. The problem started to manifest when the temperatures got into the 60's. It does seem to be temp related. How much do I have to dissasemble to adjust the pilot screws?
  4. It sputters quite a bit at low rpm/idle. I used to be able to let the clutch out and let the bike just idle along, now it sputters and jerks and it will not idle in gear without lurching.
  5. I have a 97 XX with 2 Bros slip-ons and K&N filter. I rejetted with a Dynojet kit during the winter. Set up per the dynojet recommendations. The bike seemed to run great at first. The last two weeks the weather has been mild and I have put a few hundred miles on it. Now it seems to sputter a bit at low rpms, it also seems to hesitate a bit when I crank it wide open at about 5000rpm. I didn't do any of this when I first did the installation. Any thoughts? It also seems to run better when the engine is cold.

    VFR Bars again

The throttlemeister is the same for the VFR bars and the XX bars.
  7. Carlos, Where did you get your license plate frame? Nice!!
  8. I have the 2 Bros slip-ons also and they came with the cneterstand stop. As AlanB stated, you don't have to do anything to it. The stop is incorporated in the S bend pipe and it also has a plastic? cushion that attaches to it.
  9. I also bought a K&N kit a few months ago for $35.00. Works great!! I set it at 3rd clip down and 2 1/2 turns out. I would like to get the carbs sync'd and have it checked on a dyno. I hope to coordinate a stop at a shop with a dyno during my trip south in August. I have a 97XX with K&N filter and 2-Bros slip-ons.

    engine trouble

I met a guy at the Honda shop who had a 97XX like mine. His was acting quite similar. They eventually disassembled the carbs and found that one of the diaphragms were torn. Evidently when it was rejetted they weren't too careful in the re-assembly. Replaced the diaphragm and it ran great!!! Just a thought.
