  1. what is the point of eliminating/blocking off the PAIR system? What is the gain?
  2. Ding ding ding. We have a weiner... It wouldn't be a problem getting the bike there. But the cash is going to be very tight. I'm trying to get a bit of a buffer to offset the cost. Not to mention the fact that I'm getting a hankerin for a big twin. Really?!
  3. Great write-up!! That's a siginificant gain.
  4. How often should you change the fork fluid?
  5. I was under the impression they no longer made highmounts for the XX. My thought would be to copy whoever made the nicest, most effective system and crank a few out for those interested. (I'd be interested)
  6. I have a factory pro jet kit and it says.... stock are size 42. If you need any stuff from factory I can get it at half price since they offer a 50 percent military discount but you didnt hear that from me! I have the ignition advancer, ti jet kit, evo star shift kit, and bmc race air filter and its sweet! What is your opinon of the ignition advancer? What was the impact on performance?
  7. I will need to buy a front wheel if I decide to pick up that 2002 XX. Anybody got one?
  8. I would guess that those two days of riding were rough ones. Is the damage limited to just the two lowers and the front fairing? Where are you in Anchorage? I live in Palmer.
  9. Thanks, but I'm having a difficult time relaxing about it. THIS IS BEING MOVED TO THE PUB
  10. I have been having erratic heart beats for the past few months so I saw my doctor, had a complete physical. Everything on my physical came back fine, but he preliminarily diagnosed me with Intermittent Atrial Fibrillation. I was sent to a Cardialogist and they had me wear a heart monitor for 24 hrs. During that period I had 7 "episodes". After reviewing the data from the monitor the cardioligist verified the diagnosis and said sometimes this just happens to people and it does not appear to be too serious. (Its serious to me) Friday they are going to do a heart echogram and a stress test. Needless to say this has me stressed out. So my guess is I am going to die healthy with a screwed up heart.
  11. Cruise control is for old guys !! Or lazy guys, or guys with arthritis in their hands. Or old guys. I think I fit all three categories, thank you very much.
  12. John, How much are you selling the cruise controls for?
  13. Very nice looking bike. Your mods a very tastefully done.

    27MM SOCKET

I've gone to Sears, the local sears doesn't carry anything larger than 22mm. We don't have an Autozone up here. The 1 1/16" sound like a good solution. Hopefully I can find one of those.

    27MM SOCKET

Where can I get a 27 mm socket for the axle nut on the XX? None of the local places here in Anchorage carry one. I was going to actually use a torque wrench to tighten the axle nut after adjusting the chain, but can't find a socket to fit. :icon_wall:
  16. When you say: I find the center point between the two sprockets What do you mean? I always have to readjust.

    Bathroom Remodel

NIce job. I bet that floor was a bit of work.
  18. Great looking deck. You should be very proud!!! I bet your wife is happy too.
  19. Reading this I also wondered why you would stay in 2nd gear @ 9k+in traffic. Its not like you are going to accellerate around anyone very quickly without having to shift gears. About the only thing you might accomplish is irritating those around you with your engine screaming at 9000 RPM. What speed is 9000 rpm in 2nd gear?
  20. Ordered!! Thanks for the help.
  21. How many teeth are on the front sprocket?
  22. There were "tight" and "loose" areas on the chain. I adjusted it so that the tight area had about 1" of flex. I didn't notice any shifting. No "red dust of death" and no kinks. What chain do you recommend? I called the local Honda dealership Saturday and they said they will replace the chain for about $40 bucks labor, even if I supply the chain.
  23. Last week I noticed my chain was loose and adjusted per recommendations. I rode it for a couple hundred miles and the chain is loose (stretched). I adjusted it again Saturday and after riding about 100 miles Sunday it had stretched again. It has 20,200 miles on it and still is not in the "red" zone. My guess is that its time to replace. I never had a chain stretch like that quickly before. Is this normal for a worn chain?
  24. I would check and see what my insurance coverage is. I would also look into AAA plus. They cover motorcycle towing, hotels, etc.
