  1. +1 I actually drilled a hole on both sides of center figuring that if the tire still hit the undertail, it wouldn't break the ziptie. I was able to pull the front end of the undertail up about 3/4" - no more rubbing. That is what I did too. I think there are some pics floating around in the garage section somewhere showing this zip-tie installation. It pulls the undertail up quite a bit.
  2. At the end of the riding season last year I had the local Honda shop install a new chain. A few days ago I noticed the chain needed adjusting. When I went to adjust it I noticed that on one side of the axle the adjuster was at the 2nd notch, on the other side the adjuster was at the 3rd adjusting notch. I adjusted the chain and corrected the alignment. When I rotated the wheel after adjusting the chain to check the slack I noticed that the disc "drags" at one point. The drag (contact) is minor but it does exist. Could the misalignment have caused any damage? Would it shorten the life of the chain or tire? Is that error in adjustment enough to have cause tire wear problems? Fucking dealership!!!
  3. You're welcome. Hey Tom, It was your recent VFR thread that I found this answer to when searching lol...! yeah, that thread had the answer, I just hadn't gotten around to cutting it till this weekend.
  4. I just had to grind that tab off of Jackie's 2001XX this weekend. For some reason I didn't have the clearance problem on my '97 XX when I installed the VFR bars. I love my dremmel tool!!
  5. There is an easy solution to your dilemma, start dating some girl who forbids you to ride and demands you spend your money on her and the kids. That should take care of your need for a bike. You may want to hand over your balls while your at it because you will no longer need them either.
  6. I gotta agree with ya on the carb'd birds. They got more soul. Here is my 97. 11 year old bike with its 60 year old pilot. Yeah, I turned 60 on Sunday. Pic was taken Sunday.
  7. DEMANDING??!!!! WTF!!!!! If she is "demanding" this, what next?! Run away from this one while you still have a chance. Fuck that "demanding" bullshit!!! Ok, there are some areas where "demanding" is ok. If she is "demanding" I nail her in the ass. I'll do it. If she is "demanding" I give her a 'pearl necklace" she's got it!! If she is "demanding" I nail both her and her twin sister and film it at the same time. I'll obey!!
  8. Dude, dump the chick!!! Life is too short. Find one that likes to ride.
  9. 2 1997 XX's, each with about 22,000 miles on them. Other than consumables, battery on both, steering head bearings on one. Rubber strap on one, No CCT issues yet. Bought both used, one with 2,026 miles on it, the other with about 12,800 miles.
  10. A few years ago a guy up here had a similar problem. He had taken the carbs apart to rejet and then had similar problem. It turned out that one of the diaphragms had a small hole. Somehow he punctured / tore it.

    VFR BAR INSTALL

It looked like if I cut the locking tab it would allow me to rotate the reservoir but I didn't want to cut it if I didn't have to.

    VFR BAR INSTALL

I installed the VFR bars on Jackie's bike (2001 XX) this weekend. The brake line does not allow me to rotate the reservoir forward enough to clear the throttle cables. If I rotate the throttle cables upward to clear the brake lever, the throttle cables bind and don't allow the throttle to spring back as it should. I didn't have this issue on my 97 XX Any suggestions?
  14. What type, model is it? I'll probably take it
  15. As many have stated here before, if you use your legs for support and don't rely so mush on your wrists, you can take the load off the wrists. Try to tighten up a bit with your legs against the tank. It may take some getting used to.
  16. I installed the sylvania clear bulbs with the clear alternative lenses in the front signals. There is just a tint of yellow to them and they are seriously bright. I've been running them on my bike for about 2 years and no problems with the police. I also installed them on Jackie's bike when I replaced the lenses. Like I said, they are very bright so you can definitely be seen.
  17. I purchased the flasher from Clear Alternatives. It works great!! Only $12.95 Give them a call. You have to disconnect 1 wire, I'm not sure whcih, that is why I suggest you call them. http://clearalternatives.com/Merchant2/mer...ry_Code=Flasher Installation instructions http://www.clearalternatives.com/flasher.htm
  18. It won't fit, they will interfere with each other. Let me know where to buy the smuggler you no longer want. J/K I have both the GIVI wing rack and the smuggler and there are no interference issues.

    Slip ons ?

I like the "sandblasted" model with the cool racing stripe.

    Slip ons ?

I just installed Scorpions on Jackie's bike a few weeks ago. You don't need the gaskets, it is a very tight fit between the Scorpion mid-pipe and the mating stock exhaust header. Installing bracket with the rubber sleeve was a pain in the ass though. Thanks for the compliment. I didn't put the pipes on. I had the shop do it since they were doing the jet kit. But I removed the left slip-on when I removed the centerstand (didn't have to though) and didn't see any gaskets but like TFT says....it's a tight fit so don't think any are needed. I didn't find putting the bracket and rubber sleeve to be much of a pain either. Once you get the brackets 'formed" around the pipe they are easy to remove/install. But they weren't originally "shaped" to the canister and it was a bitch to get them to conform to the shape and get them bolted up. I think the Scorpion stainless are one of the best looking best sounding pipes out there. Thanks again Barry for suggesting them.

I have 2-bros carbon fiber cans on one bike, yoshi RS3 stainless on one and Jackie has the Scorpions stainless on hers. I like the looks of the 2-bros carbon fiber the best. The Scorpions are great looking and have a great sound, not quite as loud as the 2-bros.
  23. WOW!!!!! NICE!!!!! Is the single sided swingarm longer than stock? If so, by how much?
