  1. I don't think it works out like an algebraic equation... :???: I dunno...
  2. How do I pull the needles out of the diaphram/vacuum piston of a '99 F4?
  3. Yeah, I've bounced off the rev limiter on numerous occasions. Bike felt so smooth over 10K that I didn't even realize I was that close to the redline!
  4. I used to live in VA, and it rained plenty of times, and my grips were being held on my Aquanet, and I've never had that problem. Even the grips on my mountain bike, which saw lots of water and mud (even submerged from falling into a creek, damn rocks and trees in the middle of the trail) never broke loose. I may have just been lucky.
  5. Did you mean, anything BUT a Honda??
  6. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/mods/throttlelock/index.html I installed the same throttle lock this past weekend. Well, as I found out, if you don't tighten down the adjusting bolt (even if the locker works well without it) it will come off. Then, you'll have to go buy another one. So, I spent $40 on a $20 throttle lock! I even backtracked to see if I could find it. No such luck.
  7. Oh yeah, and speaking of riding too slow! Yesterday, I hit an indicated 190mph!! Whoa! And the bike was still pulling! I just got scared and backed off. The broken white lane dividers were starting to look like one long white line!
  8. Dude, you're so gonna leave me behind on the way to Cody... It's about 200 miles from my place, to Tortilla Flat, and back. I filled up right before getting on the 101, took 10 to get there, rode up to the end of the pavement, came back down, and took the east 101 (with a brief stop at Cycle Gear) back home, and filled up at the same station off my exit of 101. I had to stop at Cycle Gear because my throttle lock came apart! I noticed it after I stopped for lunch. Somewhere out at Tortilla Flat is a locking mechanism for the NEP cruise control. It fit so well without using the metal adjuster, that I didn't tighten it down at all. Little did I know, if it's not tightened down, there's nothing holding it on!
  9. Just got in from a ride today. 191 miles until the fuel light came on. :headscratch:
  10. AV45/46 front= $99 rear= $139 off-bike mount/balance= $24.00 misc tire stuff (valves, disposal, etc.)= $don't remember road hazard= $24

Agree. Does anyone need a stock windscreen??
  14. Heeeeyyy... option "D" is supposed to be "Hookers!"
  15. A good place to look for sprockets is from Mark at www.hugeindustries.com . He sells at pretty good prices, and he'll be able to answer any questions you have on sprockets.
  16. Oh no! Not at all! But, I wish! I'd love a '99 or newer model. Mainly for the FI. Secondly, it's always good to get new toys! I'm just trying to get the scoop on how my current '98 was raised the first few years of it's life.
  17. The current is: We're in a holding pattern while a boardmember checks out what he can on my bike with the VIN.
  18. I did a VIN check with Carfax, but didn't come up with anything. I don't think they do motorcycles. My local Motor Vehicles Division wouldn't have any information on this bike because I'm the first person to title it in this state. When I called to find out why I hadn't gotten my plates yet, they told me it was because they were doing a little title research since it was an out of state title. I suppose I could call them up and ask them what state it came from...
  19. Just trying to get some maintenance and problems history.
  20. Did anybody on this board ever own a '98 Blackbird with the ending VIN 100900?
  21. You can usually find them a good deal cheaper online, but then you run into the problem of finding a shop that will put them on at a fairly reasonable price. I got lucky. My local dealer gave me a great price (only $10 more than the best price I found online) and installed them for $11.99 (off the bike, of course) per tire!
  22. No, not the normal type... I'm looking at fork oil for the stock suspension. What does everyone use? I'll probably go with Motul at the Honda specified weight, but I'd like to hear what else everyone uses.
  23. I got mine dyno'ed at 137 hp. Only mod was the Two Brothers slip-ons. Hopefully, I'll get it jetted within the next few months. I went to that website someone on this board posted to get one of those $35 jet kits, but they were sold out! I haven't gotten my dyno chart yet, but I'll post it when I do.
