  1. Mostly nice looking bike. Yeah not feeling the red rotors tho. Asking way too much..
  2. Bummer, I'm right in Richfield! Wish I'd have known this was for sale. Good luck with the new ride!
  3. Beautiful bike! I concur about the gen. I also had a '98 and imo was the best looking and best built of the vfrs. Good luck selling.. I am very tempted but am holding out for an '03 Bird.
  4. Good luck with the sale. I just got back from SW Florida.. looks pretty deserted there. Hope this economy turns around soon.
  5. Yeah that was another bike. If you search the archives you'll see he picked it up from a repo yard.. sounds like it might've had some problems. I had an agreement to purchase and was in the process of getting the cash to him and he started going goofy a few days later. I was pretty ticked at the time because I'd already set up a shipper and was in the process of getting him the cash.. but in hindsight I'm glad I didn't get the bike. Fwiw I won't buy anything "far away" anymore. Cash in hand after physical bike inspection.. there's too many sketchy people. Kinda sad.
  6. If you are looking for a shipping contact, try "Jim or Sol Carter". I got a quote from him to ship from Tucson to Cleveland and he had a great price.. enclosed trailer, insured, specializes in bikes, has 3 trucks running.. Jim is a real class guy. salesxtreamvoip@hotmail.com and make sure you tell him it's not the same bike from Tucson that the seller flaked on. Good luck
  7. is that a '16 in the background? Pic taken at Luke?
  8. heads up.. might be the same bike? http://www.cbrxx.com/engine-airbox-exhaust...html#post120822 VERY SICK BIRD ANY HELP? AZbling520 Join Date: Jul 25 2009 Location: Tucson Posts: 11 VERY SICK BIRD ANY HELP? So here it goes. I bought a 2003 xx from a repo yard my father in law works out for a stupid cheap price! It had been sitting for about a year by the time I got it. I began by flushing out tank and old fuel and oil etc. Replaced the fuel pump and lines and soaked the injectors. New battery and turned the key and fired up. But this where I get stuck, it runs really rough and rich! So rich it was burning half tank of gas in 10 miles! So I ran bottle of sea foam thru it to try to clear out any excess that might be in system. Then checked my oil and it was almost all fuel. So I sent injectors to be cleaned and checked. They are fine put them back in and bike runs worse FI light is now on and more gas in oil and now dripping out pipes! I'm at a loss is it the computer relays ? If you can help I would really be greatful
  9. The Bird sold earlier. Very sad to see her go.. -k
  10. Just posted this on ebay. I'd rather someone from the XX board get it. Email if interested. pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/pavdog/Blackbird '99 Honda CBR1100XX "Super Blackbird". 1137cc, inline-four, water-cooled, EFI (electronic fuel injection), LBS (linked braking system). Extremely low mileage. Bike is in A1 condition. 5415 miles, oil changed 2x/year. Rotella-T full-synthetic. Had bike checked & all brake/clutch fluids replaced last year when the Metzelers were installed. Has Two-Brothers exhaust (also will include stock exhaust). Almost new Metzeler Sportec M3 tires. Maybe 1,000 miles on them. New battery. Also pre-wired for battery-tender. Will include Battery Tender if interested. Just installed lowering brackets and Puig DB windscreen (also will include stock windscreen). Always garaged & covered. Everything is in awesome shape. If you're familiar with the Super Blackbird you know what you're getting. Otherwise, do some research. Absolutely not a beginner bike. She's smooth, classy but absolutely a beast if need be. Bike's always been babied. I'm a 40*ish* yo/guy. The guy I bought it from was an older "Harley Guy". So the bike's always been pampered. One note: there are very slight surface scratches on the lower right side of the fairing. Also a small one on the stator cover. They're really not noticeable unless you're near the ground looking. I believe it happened during shipping--The bike's never been down. In fact, they're so slight I didn't notice it until a few days after it was delivered. But just want to point that out. Please look at the pics for visual details. Also have a matching Corbin "Smuggler" seat. Will include that for additional $300 with the bike. Otherwise bike comes with stock seat. I'm not able to ship but will work with your shipper. Reason for selling: Well, I really love this bike. I simply don't have much time to ride like I used to. It's going to be tough to sell her. Bike can be seen locally (Richfield, OH 44286). Email to arrange a time. Absolutely no test rides.
  11. It's like pockets for breast implants!! It's for yer Tit-tays!
  12. So where are we with the GB? Have the 100 yet? Or are we all going to be ordering jackets for our families for Xmas?
  13. Are you planning a trip to Sturgis anytime soon? How'd you guess?
  14. Thanks for the response Toynut. I think I'd prefer the solid leather. Perforated in my location doesn't make much sense. Plus I have a mesh jacket when it's really hot. So def put me down for a set.. with the patch, of course. Thanks: ps: and is it possible to get the leather pants with the butt-cheeks cut out? Umm, for "ventilation".
  15. And YES, please put me down for both the Jacket (with patch) and Pants. Jacket: M Pants: 32/34? Not sure about perforated or regular tho. Any details on how much venting (front/rear/sides) there is with the jacket? Thanks.. Looks awesome. I've been looking for a "nice" jacket for a while.
  16. Hello all, Strange thing happened when I was out riding on Sunday. The seat latch literally "fell off". Luckily the seat didn't.. the cable is still there, but no parts are left other than a small squarish-type of shim. Is there a place/part# to order a replacement from? I don't see any assembly info in the svc. manual, etc. Thanks in advance, -k
  17. Thanks for the link. Just ordered a pair. They're supposed to be "ventilated".. we'll see. I've been looking for a summer pair. Yeah yeah I know, just in time for winter.. ;-)
  18. Why do I feel dirty for clicking on this link?? answer to your q: "use Chemicals"
  19. I bought the TireQuick last year for my VFR. It works okay.. I marred the rear wheel up from fighting w/the tire on the garage floor. By the time I realized, it was too late. My suggestion is to get a larger carpet sample to put the wheel/tire on. And to put the tire in the sun/oven before trying to install. The balancer works pretty well. http://www.tireqwik.com/tireqwik/index.html
