Wired mine to ignition "on" wire using a voltmeter. Can't tell you color of the wire (assuming this is where you want to hook up) since it is covered in shrink tubing. As for foam grips, they don't work as well due to their porosity. I've used progrip gel grips with great success and this set-up with dualstar is hotter than my bmw heated grips IMHO. Good luck.
