  1. Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird Engine Kit Engine is out of a 1999 Honda Blackbird. Bike had less than 6,000 miles on it before I tore it down. Ran great and shifts smoothly. This package is a complete engine kit that includes: -Engine -Air box and intake ducts -Radiator w/coolant overflow res. -Oil cooler -Gages -Wire Harness and all electronics -Fuel Pump -Exhaust headers -Battery Everything is here to transplant this motor in another vehicle and make it run. -Steve Located 30 miles north of Detroit,MI
  2. I'm in Shelby Township,MI....about 20 miles north of Detroit,MI. I'll be sure to post updates as to my progress. Thanks for the advice guys! -Steve
  3. Yes it's similar to the Atom, the difference is the Atom is only sold as a completed car, $50k+. This can be bought as a turn-key car at half that price or in kit form, which is what I'm thinking. There are no build plans that can be bought, only the kit or turn-key car. I have a bunch of questions into the US rep for this kit and waiting to hear back. Hayabusa or ZX14 are both temping but I have the Blackbird engine standing by in my garage already.
  4. The plan would be to make it street legal. The kit is street legal in Europe and they are more strict than the US so it shouldn't be a problem. MI like all states has "assembled cars" rules that you need to meet in order to register the vehicle for street use. I've also gone to a few auto-cross events and that would be a blast with something like this.
  5. I've been thinking about building a car but now I'm leaning towards a kit car. I like this one the best. If not this one, then something similar. The car w/engine will be around 1200 lbs.
  6. Hey thanks man! These brake parts are off the same bike the parts you got were from. Finally getting to that project I was talking to you about. Also, not in the Milwaukee area anymore, job relocated me north of Detroit,MI. Hope you're doing well. later
  7. Hey everyone, I'm planning on using a 99' Blackbird engine for my next project, a small 2 seater exo-skeleton car...."big go-kart" and I'm wondering what you guys would suggest to upgrade to get the most power out the stock engine. The intake and exhaust will be custom so this area is wide open. The engine has been removed from the bike so now is a good time to work on it. Like most people I'm looking for the most bang for my buck, so let's say a budget of $1000. Is 200 hp obtainable?.....ok it took me 5 minutes to figure out this is not realistic...anyway, what is obtainable? Oh yeah, I do plan on making the car street legal so mufflers of some sort will be needed. Thanks! -Steve Detroit,MI
  8. I have a rear brake caliper, mounting bracket, master cylinder and all the other parts that go along with the rear brake setup. The bike only had 5k miles when I parted it out so the parts are in like new shape. They are clean and boxed up, ready to ship. Only $35 +shipping! Any interest? -Steve
  9. MitchT, yes I replied to both, I take it you didn't get them. Anyway, the tank bra has been claimed, sorry!
  10. I'm beginning to list parts on Ebay. If there's any part you need, let me know, I'll take any fair offer. Some parts are packaged already, ready to ship! Thanks! -Steve
  11. Attachment has been updated!!! Hey guys! I'm parting out my 1999 CBR1100xx. Check out the attached list and let me know what you need. The prices listed are my best guess of what they are worth but if you don't think a price is fair make me an offer. I'm not trying to get top dollar I just want a fair price and these parts out of my garage. The motor is not for sale. Also, there are (2) rear tire assemblies, one is in "like new" shape and the other has a damaged rim. Check out pictures of the parts still available at the link at the top of the attachment. Please email me at: smhammen@yahoo.com Thanks guys! -Steve CBR1100XX.pdf
