  1. I was afraid that was squid rider discussion so i came back to a forum of guys I trust :-) They also claim of over exposure to the radiator to rocks and debris....OMG you can't have your cake and eat it too. I will look for a mesh grill for the radiator...If anyone knows of a good one let me know...
  2. With my front end swapped, I need to decide on a fender.... Questions: 1) Anyone running a ZX14 fender?? Any added heat issues??? 2) Does the ZX10 fender cause the stability issues (..front end lift) on a XX as the ZX14 guys claim? 3) Any other known fenders adaptable to Zx14 fork/SP1 triple combo??? I have purchased a zx10 fender but it is returnable...It is very minimal but looks OK. I like the looks of the ZX14 fender too (especially the side profile).
  3. Finished taking care of the fork/ram-air tube clearance issues (SP1 lower issue that Stan spoke of) and got my steering lock to work...WooHoo!!! I measured for braided lines made. Puig dark smoke DB windscreen looks really trick (a lot better than the el'cheapo screen that was on it when I got it). I still have a few weeks to wait on the swingarm to be built and shipped but I am sooooooo happy that the front is nearly complete. Riding season is upon us :-)
  4. Thanks Stan...That was very helpful.
  5. Well....the stops will be revisited but basically using Allen's will plastic spacers for now. It appears to be enough room to have a piece made to attach to the frame to bump the lower triple. Allen's work for now. I am working on the brakes soon. Don't have lines yet. What can I expect there??? Turn radius is drastically reduced but that will mostly be an issue in parking...do you have this problem???
  6. Well I finally did it!!! ZX front end is installed. Thanks Stan, iFanboi and others that chimed in and answered my many questions. I knew exactly what to expect. Test fit went well... Pics attached
  7. Finally have: SP1 complete triple Biller Clip-ons 1.5" Rise ZX14 forks ZX14 rear caliper and master Wheels, calipers, front master, fender and braided lines will be purchased in a couple of weeks. Looking to have TracDynamics make me a 6" over swingarm. ......⅛ mile is a rush, ¼ mile is a race and1.5 miles is a test flight :-)
  8. XXTurbo: That's cool...would like to see it with plastics on. I wonder about fairing clearance for street purposes. A turbo will probably be in the future for my bird. I am starting with brakes and suspension upgrades first. Is your turbo exhaust manifold custom or do you have a supplier in which you can give me contact info?
  9. Ok Guru's out there...Help. What I am trying to do is avoid the plastic (yuck!) master cylinder used on radial brake masters on my ZXXX conversion. Secondly, I prefer not to have unmatching left and right masters. So, here is the question.....since Gen 2 Hayabusa (08-up) have radial brakes, will Gen 2 masters properly actuate my ZX14 Nissan calipers??? If so, any disadvantages...or reasons why I still should use the round ones instead? BTW thinking of using Busa clutch and brake masters...so I'm concerned about wiring issues surrounding starter interlock (clutch side) and brake light (brake side).
  10. Gregg...that has been on there for seven months. I have never gotten a reply from the guy in months.....My search continues. But thanks anyways.
  11. Does anyone know the name of the Ebay seller that offers these undertails? Thanks in advance
  12. XXTURBO...I was told that the 600rr is not proper for the weight of the XX. The RC front is not a radial set-up. I am using ZX14 legs with RC triples. This has been documented as a straight forward yet stable combo.
  13. Stan: Sorry I forgot the pictures but from you last post...I get it. It's the threaded ones that you were speaking of. As soon as I get the staple parts, I will be in touch with you for all the intricate parts of the build. BTW PM me a price for the wheels...thanks
  14. Looking for a Mototek Innovations Undetail as the one pictured
  15. Stan...about the links. I am wondering if billet links as those pictured here (2-4indrop) will work or do I need the threaded adjuster style (1-3in drop) cutting the coupler? I will be in touch on other needed parts :-). Thanks for informing me of your inventory. I am sure it may as helpful as your advise.
  16. Thanks Guys... Well so far I have: SP1 Lower (need upper but may go with billet upper...any thoughts???) ZX14 forks ZX14 Swingarm and brake bracket & caliper Stan...did you machine links for the swing arm or just shortened/welded to mod???
  17. Hey Guys Can anyone shed light on front master cylinders for se with radial brakes? I have begun hoarding parts for my ZXXX build. I am seeing posts stating the use of cbr600 f3 and f4i masters. Are they to be used only when de-linking with non-radial set-ups or can they be used with ZX14 radials? I would love to keep the stock look if possible.
  18. I thought about a Busa front but became intrigued around matching the front and rear wheels using ZX14 wheels. Maybe someone can tell me why I have not heard of anyone using ZX14 forks with 04-05 1000RR triple set since the have the same bearings upper and lower.?????????
  19. Only did one test and tune at the local 1/8th mile strip...it was a mid 5's bike. 220hp on the dyno. I miss that bike....traded for and R1 and a lot of boot :-) Then I bought a Harley Night Train and tricked it out. Then took profits from that and bought an Ultra Classic (Notice the old man factor setting in). Then came my daughter...Then bikeless for 5 years until my last September when my wife got tired of my lip dragging and bought the Blackbird for my birthday. She won't admit it but she missed riding as much as I did. How do I know??? she said "I hope you don't solo seat it like you did the Night Train and the Busa" LOL Before -Sunglow Red After -Black with Red/Silver flames
  20. This is me navigating the Dragon on my turbo Busa... 10in over but was still able to grind the K&N flat leaning into the curves. I will add more pics by creating a gallery
