  1. I have a Corbin gunfighter and lady that I am looking to trade along with cash to someone who has a Corbin Smuggler. I am a big guy at 6'4" and 300lbs so I always ride solo. This has been a great seat but I would like a smuggler and I am hoping that someone on the board can use the gunfighter and lady. As I ride solo I did not buy the backrest. My seat is in good shape with no rips, splits or cracks and I am hoping for similar on the Smuggler Any takers?? Joe
  2. Having just crashed my bird I was forced to go and find some new parts I ended up finding a guy in Michigan who sells A LOT of the european parts that you see on ebay but they are already here. I have not bought my new windscreen yet but the website is below just in case you want new parts. They are a european brand called powerbronze http://www.superbikestore.com/cbr1100xx1.htm
  3. I have the same ones on my bike minus the paint. They sound very nice and not obnoxiously loud.
  4. I loved my 84 wing and rode her until I gave her to my father after buying my 99XX. I kinda miss my wing because grinding the hell out of the floorboards around turns was A LOT of fun! I have been considering the F6B but I would have to switch out that shorty windshield. Looks to "Harley-esque" and who wants that kind of downgrade?
  5. well at least the riding in the short sleaves and shorts explains why the bike only has 17K miles on it. He should be on a HD barhopper if thats all the miles that are gonna be put on the bike.
  6. May I ask what "Bump" means? I have seen it on this site alot and feel like a trad not undesrtanding the vernacular. Thanks, Joe
  7. This is my co-workers bike. It is in amazing shape and he is a NUT about his truck and his bike. He would not even ride it if it was misty outside... pussy Anyway here is a link to his bike on craigslist. I was thinking about buying it myself but I'm a big dude at 300 lbs and a 650 is just too small for me. I know you guys are fans of clean bikes in great shape... take a look.... http://york.craigslist.org/mcy/2256968350.html
  8. Not a believer in routine maintenance? :icon_think: I bought the bike in August of 2009 as a 3rd owner and did not know the history of the bike other than the 2nd owner said he replaced the regulator/rectifier and the CCT 2 or 3 years ago. I do the basic maintenance of chain and oil yes but put 10k miles on the bird in 8 months including the winter. This summer was dismal for me with the loss of several family members and unfortunately few riding buddies. My better half asked me to chill out on the long trips for a while so no didtance stuff for me but I am working my way back up. I dont think I did too bad with my maintenance...
  9. I searched this site and printed off everything I could find and the wealth of knowledge paid off! My 99 bird was experiencing several problems 1. cylinders 1&4 were not sparking 2. the horn did not work 3. the turn signals did not work 4. the rear brake did not activate the brake light The postings on the LOOM problem and spark problems proved to be invaluable in my case. We started working on the loom first and chose the permanent fix where we removed the connector and soldered the wires together. Then we inserted the new Iridium NGK spark plugs because I was unsure of how many miles were on the old ones and they didn't look pretty. Finally we put in the K&N air filter. My bike went from sounding like a 250 v-twin with cancer to the purring super sport high performance machine that it is! You guys have shared a lot of knowledge on here and it saved me a TON of cash I am sure. This is just a note to say thank you... thank you... thank you!!! :icon_clap: :icon_pray:

    No Sparks

well it turns out that the "loom" was the entire problem. The horn not working, the turn signals not working unless the front and rear brakes were applied at the same time, AND the 1&4 cylinders not sparking were all fixed when we took out the connector and soldered the wires together. Thanks for your help fellas!

    No Sparks

My 1999 Blackbird must have a broken wing and I really need some assistance from you tech guys. I wanna come to NEXXT and my bird is sick! Cylinders 1 and 4 are not sparking I have 12 volts at the yellow wire at the coil. The bike does run on 2 of the 4 cylinders Need some help in diagnosing the coil as I do not have the voltage adapted for the BOM What reading should I get at the yellow wire with the bike running? Do the coils go bad? Are there any other issues to keep it from sparking? It does start and FI light does not stay on. Any info you can offer would be a HUGE help. Thanks, Joe
  12. Is anyone on here selling their GIVI or any clear windscreen that it really really tall? I am 6'4" tall and weigh in at 300 so any wind protection I can get is a big help especially since my cruizin speed is somewhere between 70 and 165 mph! Joe in Baltimore 410-241-5253
  13. I bought my bird last year and have decided to flush and also upgrade the the EBC's after reading the boards. My question is that I hear the "lathe" sound that you are talking about now and have since I bought the bike. I am not sure what the thickness of the rotors should be or what the sound usually is since I am coming off a goldwing where you hear nuthin but the radio. How do I know when to replace the rotors too (and no there are no scrapes or warping or anything to make it obvious to the non-mechanical). Time to buy a clymer shop manual I guess... Joe

  15. My Wing is too old as it is an 84 GL1200i but I will reach out to the guys at my chapter of GWRRA Goldwing Road Riders Assoc. to see if anyone is interested and might need something. You might also try posting them on their website which is www.gwrra.org Good luck to you! Joe
  16. Just to add my 2 cents and hopefully help you out... Ten to twelve years ago I bought a 1983 Honda Ascot FT500 because I loved those bikes as a kid and it only had 4600 miles on it. I did not think about it sitting without being ridden and all that I just though... SWEET LOW MILEAGE and then I found out the aweful and expensive truth about repairs on something that was not regularly ridden. I think people are a little scared of something that low mileage. If you go to post it on craigslist or on ebay or something you might want to say something in your post about the steps that you took to make sure that the gaskets did not dry out or if the tires on it are not 5+ years old because tires start to suck after they sit for a little while. Age is definitely a tire's enemy. Hope this helps you. Joe
  17. Saw this on my lunch break and thought you boys might be interested. Not my bike. http://baltimore.craigslist.org/mcy/1622449020.html here is a copy of the text on the posting. There are 4 different pix if you click the link above though... 1997 Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird this bike is in prestine condition 17,000 miles. This bike does have some milage but looks and drives brand new. The only modification to the bike is a two brothers carbon exhaust. Tires are in good condition about 85% tread. a few scuffs on the left side from a gauage tip over. Other then that the bike is in excellent condition, very fast. Asking $5,000 obo, I am willing to trade for a supermoto bike. For any questions or viewings call 443-745-4231

    New Tires

yep top rated in mileage and rain.. PR2's for me too. Do either of you find that once you get about 2k miles on the Pilot Road 2's that they get a little greasy and lose some traction? I am shoppig tires now and want to switch from the Contiforce Max tires that were on it when I bought it last year. I replaced them with a BRAND NEW SET of Contiforce Max's before going on my first trip. On that one single small trip I left from Baltimore MD to go to Deal's gap in Tennessee, then over to the eastern shore of North Ccarolina to visit family and then back home to Baltimore. Total of about 2400 to 2500 miles after joyriding too and my tires were shot and I needed another new set. I am not sure if my expectations are a little off or not because I also own and ride a goldwing. I ride somewhat aggressive but not super hard core and so I am trying to get more miles out of my tires. I rear Pilot Road 2 CT's are the way to go. Any help?? Joe in Baltimore
