I have some black billet reservoir covers like this on my Katana with the Kat logo....do they make any with 1100xx or just the XX logo on them? I can't seem to find any...that and a license plate frame cover. thanks John....puts my mind at ease...what kind of MPG do you get? this last tank I tried to keep from punching it and I got 134 miles out of the tank and crammed 4.8 into it....28 mpg. It's a backroad commute stop and go with a couple stretches of 70 in it. 17 miles each way....just wondering....I know it's probably not the most economical mileage wise but figured mid 30's would be the norm..

my bike regularly sees 210-219 on my work commute and it's 40-50 degrees out. I believe it was in the 220's when I was commuting around LA when I bought it (warmer out) I haven't had it long enough to see what it runs in real heat, but also want to make sure it's not close to overheating either. Haven't gone through and changed all the fluids yet, but just wondered what you all are seeing on your bikes....2001 FI model by the way. what is "overheating" temp? see mpg ?? below

so as I'm cleaning up the bike after getting a donated tire mounted up (thanks to my co-worker) I notice the (left as you sit on it) peg bracket's "wing" is snapped off. Anyone got a stock either bracket or peg and bracket assembly for cheap? ...also so I stop describing the side is L/R determined by facing headlight or as you sit on bike?? thanks in advance!! Jeff

I need a right lower as you sit on the bike....sounds like JB needs a left lower. Maybe you can rid yourself of both of them I really should've jumped on that ebay one a bit ago, but with the registration and insurance hitting right on top of buying I had to wait....too bad he put it down to 100 bucks. There is a big chunk missing out of right where the V is. I am considering the chinese ABS set...anyone ever get the red set from them that looks like the 2001 color and how well it matches the tank?? With a factory one set at 400 bucks, I might as well clear out the little scratches and nicks everywhere else if nobody has a right lower

Needing to do mine, I pulled the mirrors. It did help with the room and one of the metal washers fell, but luckily it fell thru to the ground...now the washer I was trying to put in the top hole to take up some of the slack....not so much. haha. The ZG touring screen is thinner than the stocker for anyone swapping that on. Pic:

the right hand side lower as you sit on the bike and left hand lower as you stare at the headlight. PO took a chunk out of it...looking to see if anyone has one worth a damn. It'll probably sit as it is for a while, but if someone's got one, I'll listen. thanks!

I've looked over the site and see that the valves are usually good for a while so assuming the worst of they've not been checked in 25k miles (what's on the bike) a full service would tell me what the deal is. It is definitely not a marble sound like the CCT posts point to. Very faint like a vibration squeak or something. I feel pretty good about the bike and will see if he will take my offer soon. From the reputation of the motor, it sounds as if they are fairly bulletproof and if I didn't hear any obvious problems a roll of the dice should be fine it seems. Hope to join the family soon. Thanks Redbird. Gives me a few options to lookup. I haven't looked up the CCT lifter but the FI light doesn't sound like a dealbreaker if it's just the wiring loom. In fact it might help my cause of talking down....

So I went to look at a 2000 BB. Previous maintenance is not meticulous by talking to owner. I heard a little bit of what I thought was valve chatter coming up under the handlebars and also the fuel injection light came on while I was test riding it. It's got 25k miles on it and I don't think anything has been done last 8k miles so I figure it's due for a valve adjustment. Bike rode great and didn't make any funny noises up to 50. FI light is kind of a concern. Any red flags based on what's mentioned? I was going to have my shop give it a once over anyway, but just wondered about the FI light mostly and the sound of what I thought was valve chatter. I ride a Katana so it sounds like a bolt is rattling around in there and everyone tells me they are just noisy.This was NOWHERE near that kind of noise, just a faint tap tap tap thanks in advance!!

In my katana forum, it was pointed out that knockoffs on ebay are going for under 100 bucks if that helps. I believe the search I did to look at them was corbin backrest.
