  1. Oh I had the same problem and I thought all of the suggestions that people gave me was correct. YOU WOULDNT BELIEVE WHAT IT WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The freakin bolts that hold the engine to the frame was missing(2 of them)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The others was loose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ordered 2 bolts ,used a crowbar to align the holes, tightened all bolts, front tire shake gone!! Handlebar wobble,GONE!!! CHECK THOSE BOLTS THAT BOLT THE ENGINE TO THE FRAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I shifted gears,I heard a knocking sound too.It was the engine moving hitting against the frame!! I WAS SHOCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Ok ok in NORTH AMERICA is the stock sprocket setup 17T/45T?
  3. Oh!! Well I was told it is chrome plated. Guess Ill see when I get them
  4. I ordered a pair of Scorpions last week and I just got them yesterday! Boy am I pleased. They sound awesome!!!!!! The installation was easy, the fitting was very tight and the sound? WOW!!!!!!! Of course the lifetime warranty and never needing repacking is also a big plus!!!!!
  5. White Buffalo Racing,it is plated!!
  6. I just recently bought a sprocket from Ebay for $20.It was good in all but I ran into a problem. The previous owner failed to tell me he changed the stock sprocket in the rear to a 43 instead of the stock 45t in the rear. Well I bought a stock 45t rear sprocket and now the chain is so tight the wheel is all the way forward still the chain is too tight.I decided to drive it carefully home, park it and wait for the new chrome chain I ordered to be here shortly. Now I bought the chain cut already to 110. I was told by several people the stock setup on a 98 CBR1100XX is... fromt sprocket=17 rear sprocket=45 chain length=110 I also bought a front sprocket in case he changed that too,its a 17. Will this 110 #530 chain I bought be too tight too? Will it fit? What is the bone stock front, rear and chain length on a stock CBR1100XX?
  7. Well finally the problem was solved,it was the R/R !! I replaced it with one from a 99 R1 and since then had absolutely no problems, runs excellent.I appreciate all you guys that helped me cause without ya'll,I wouldn't be riding now. Thanks a bunch,ya'll are great!!!!!!
  8. I had the same similar problem.I used the R/R for a Yamaha R1,part # 4JH-81960-01-00. Call Gary at University Motors,he'll get you a brand new one dirt cheap!!! Better than Honda OEM. 701-235-6478,tell him Eric from GA sent ya!!!!
  9. Can a R/R off a 98 Bird be tested without being hooked up to the bike? If so please explain
  10. Ok I put a new battery on and it runs just fine.I was driving my 98 xx and the digital voltmeter I have hooked to my bike started to read 11.4 V. It was reading 13.4+ when I first started out riding but as time went by,the voltage dropped.I unhooked the regulator to my surprise the plastic connector was burnt and melting on 2 of the 3 connections for the yellow wire.Im thinking just replace the R/R and ride, but with which one? I hear the R1 R/R is much better than the Honda one but what year R/R off of a R1 do I use? The Electrosport fauly finder is really good but once I got to the part where you had to disconnect the stator wires,I was lost.I have a manual too.So instead of posting over and over the same questions,I would like to list the questions I'd like to ask at this time.. 1-Is it the regulator? 2-What year R1 regulator can I use with my 98 Bird? 3-I have a manual but is the stator really as easy to replace as take the cover off, unbolt the old bolt the new,put cover back oon? 4-Will oil come gushing out when I try to replace the stator? If you knew what I went through with this bike, look at past forums and you'll see,its sad. Please help me,I wanna ride without worry cause I love my Bird but I am SERIOUSLY thinking about trading it for a Busa! I love my Honda though!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hey where did you buy your stator from?
  12. Oh boy here we go again.I hooked up a digital volt meter and I was driving down the highway,I noticed after it got a little hot,the volts went from 13.2 to below 12!!! About 11.2.I mean the bike still ran fine, but I took it home ASAP!!! Unhooked the regulator plug and ewwwww! Two of the top three connectors to the yellow wires was burnt!!! I was like wow!!! I think I just caught the reg before it completely died on me and caused further damage. Can someone confirm this for me.What year R1 regulator should I use? Guess ElectroSport's is out the question.Too many people saying bad things about them, but how are there stators?
  13. Good news peeps!!! All i did was replace the battery and no problem.Put a digital volt gauge on the bike and when I rev up it goes up to about 13.5 volts. Is this good?
  14. Well I just bought a BAttery Tender Plus and a new battery today. After the Labor Day holiday,I plan on called ElectroSport and buy a R/R. Figure I charge the old battery first, try to crank it and if it goes dead replace the R/R. I just wanna ride!!! Most likely will buy a stator too just in case.Any body knows how good ElectroSport products are?
  15. Well now Im inclined to just replace the R/R,battery and stator.Answer me this when you take off the stator cover, will oil leak out? I just simply unbolt the stator, unplug the wires then install a new one and connect the wires back right?
