Hi from the Uk i do mine every year regardless of mileage mine is a 2001 injection with viper cans and i don't hang around ..don't seem to use any noticable amounts and also do a lot of two up +luggage touring ... But i was recommended to use semi synthetic from the Honda technicians they said that fully synthetic can cause issuse with clutch slip .... cheers all the best

Hi all i was vcery lucky(or unlucky) the other day to get a set of honda panniers for my blackbird (present of the wife) when i came to fit these supposed purpose designed the mounting bracket ( re enforcing plates )for the grab rail fouls the mounting bracket for the rectifier on the left side of the frame (£600 bloody kit and it don't fit unless you take an angle grinder to the bracket ) Honda quality lol They look very nice though .......... Just thought i would worn people if they are thinking of getting these and also ask a question of anyone that has this setup ...... Has anyone managed to fit a top box rack along with the Honda pannier kit as i need to put the topbox back on for the little women (well not so little she's 6ft thats why i want the top box back on .......... Any ideas please ..........

I all New to site I have a 2001 bird 16000 miles for about a year and started hearing a rumbling noise at 3500 rpm after reading lots of sites i thought it was he balancer chain but after taking it to my mate in the honda garage we worked out the following . balancer chains needed adjusting (been this is very common around te 16000 mile mark and can be done easily by the garage (will find out what they do ) But the main problem was the cam chain tensioner unit on the back of the motor right hand side . replaced this £50 done balancer chain adjusted bike now is very smooth and very quiet and improved pickup. My garage friend said this is a common fault with the blackbird he has had to replace these sometimne after 1000 miles from new . Worth checking... Great site and forum will let friends know
