    valve shims

yeah!! now im afraid to even take the bolts out of the valve cover!! lol!!
  2. i got a carbed yammy v star cruiser, i put pipes on it and jetted and had a pop on decelleration. it was annoying! i removed its pair valve and the pop on decel was gone.also same deal on yammy wr 450 dirtbike same smog crap. it had annoying pop on decel bone stock, removed the valve and it was gone!
  3. jesus!! your a god and im an idiot!! i never thought about the valve cover!! , was planning on doing the valves anyway!!. i think i have mentioned this to you redbird once before in a pm!! im an idiot! i feel like a fool!! LOL! im glad i posted this cause i would have prob dropped the motor!!
  4. if you are looking for genuine honda parts try www.servicehonda.com i work on bikes and quads and i get all my oem honda yammy and kawwy parts here. they have oem parts fische. example stock oem plugs for the bird. local dealer wanted 15 bucks a pop. serv hondawas 6.25. if you order on monday you should have you parts in 5-7 days. check them out!
  5. i got an easy out kit, but drilling a hole in the bolt is gonna be imposible!! the angle its at wont work, it was bad enough trying to get socket and extension on it. , there is about 1/8 of the bolt sticking up from the head maybe vice grips. will try tomorrow.

    valve shims

im not home so i dont have my serv manual and i havent looked yet but i am assuming the bird is shim under bucket valves correct? i have a hot cams shim kit for my 450 dirt bike, are these the shims i might need??
  8. well should have just left it alone but since i had the airbox off doing some jetting changes i decided to remove the pair valve. it was a booger changing the plugs so i thought why not just get rid of it. well one of the dam bolts broke on the right cover!! and its gonna be a bitch to try to drill to get an easy out in it. soooo guess im gonna be droppin the motor now. i thought maybe lightly siliconing the cover and trying just the one bolt. what do you all think?
  9. jb4xx in in oakland city, where u at? and yes geeker boy actually has 2 other kids bikes a yammy pw 50 and a ktm junior 50 which were his kids bikes.these are gonna be hard to find due to that stupid ban they pased! actually i got lucky cause i really bought my bird from his soon to be ex wife. i offered 500 and she countered with 6 i was gonna go to a g but didnt have too. her name was on the title , i was just so glad when it was on the trailer and i had the title in my hand!
  10. yeah i got both keys, its a shame this guy had the world! now he has nothing, i kinda felt bad for him until i loaded it on the trailer and he handed me the title!!. meth is a big problem in the small town i live in. its getting out of control.
  11. i posted this in the wrong place sorry!
  12. i bought this for 600 bucks from a meth head that lives down the street from me. he was once a good friend but now the drugs has ruined his life. i remember the day he picked this bike up i was so jealous. it has been sitting since the summer after it had a major electrical meltdown. so far i have replaced entire charging system, cdi box, it fried the guages also! just got her running agin this weekend! hope to have me a good bike now!
  13. did the 97 model birds have the ram air tubes?? mine are missing if they were even there in the first place, i just bought the bike last year. honda service manual for 97-98 shows no pics or says anything about them. hondas parts fische shows both of them and has same part # for 97-03.
  14. a major overcharging problem has fried both my tach and speedo. i am looking for a good usable gueage cluster for my 97 bird. 97-00 are the same. thanks in advance!!
