  1. Hi, This winter I am upgrading my suspension. Right now Im thinking Ohlins rear and Race-Tech fork springs and the Jaws uk bar riser with adjustable pre-load. Any-one with comments and suggestions it would be appreciated. The Ohlins lists the shock for the 2000 as the same as the carbed birds, with a different part number for 2001 on. Any one able to confirm that the suspension had some minor changes starting in 2000?
  2. I'm in, a chain oiler is on my to-do this winter list. PM me when this goes. #9 for my blackbird (dual Beatles reference)
  3. I really like the z6 rear I put on 2000km ago, great traction, and reacts very nicely at the limits of traction, rode 400km in the rain and sleet last week at 120-140km/hr and was stellar for wet grip, wet twisties at 10-20 over were no problem whatsoever. I hear that the z6 front and rear were designed to work best in the wet together, so i am going to add a z6 front next spring. I am curious about wear though as due to the lack of tread in the center I hear it is hard to determine replacement time.
  4. Hi, I recently bought a 2000 xx with 27k km, and am now up to 30k km. I notice when I come off the throttle in 6th at hiway speeds a slight shake in the handlebars when I take my hands off while decellerating (RPMS 4000 - 3500) it doesnt occur at higher speeds/rpm nor at lower. What could the culprits be? Front suspension, head bearing, tire, wheel weights/balance? or is this normal? front tire is a 220 with 8k km run at 42 psi cold (heavy rider). this is the only time the bike doesn't feel rock solid on the road, and even with the shake tracks very true. I changed the rear to a metz z6 2k ago, and was hoping to get enough mileage on the front to change over to a complete pilot power setup next summer, but now I am thinking about throwing a matching z6 front to see if this helps.
