  1. Not sure how much increase you'd see with cams and a port and polish, maybe 8 horses?

Nitrous would be more cost effective. You could slap on 20 pretty easy.

Would the above affect the daily "rideability" of the Bird?

  2. I haven't run Dunlops but I just installed P2s and I'm very happy with them. RoadSmarts seem to be highly recommended in ?Europe. Avons in GB, Aus, and NZ. I think it depends on types of roads in you country. My next tire will be Dunlops. imo

  3. If you run slip ons with a pc iii on an '02, will it still improve as stated above. I've never changed mine out in 140,000 kms. I'm always looking for improvements but don't want to throw dosh away for nothing. I'm also a sucker for "snake oil".

  4. I've replaced my wheel bearing and head bearings once in 7 years and 137,500 kms. I will be replacing the cush drives when I install new tires in a couple of weeks. I bought the bearings and cush drives from Jaws. I do feel a little play when I break at slow speeds in the front and my tech will check it out. I can't image replacing those items so frequently. All my 2 cents of course.

  5. I replace my stator on my '02 at approx 60,000 kms. I replaced the r&r at approx 125,000 kms just to be on the safe side. I used oem on both occasions. I have 137,500 kms at the moment. I don't like after market for electricals personally. To each his own. Don't get stuck out there b/c of an aftermarket part. imo

  6. The top box also can be fitted with a brake lite which is an excellent safety feature. There are liners for the bags which make it easy to load and just take them into the motel/hotel/camp site. If you install the brake lite you won't be able to use the smaller side bag on the top box position. Givi is stable at all hyper speeds. I took off the back rest to install a Corbin backrest with the Corbin seat. Do not, I repeat, do not bother with Beatle Bags.

  7. When winter storing I always fill the tank, add Stabil, put her on the centre stand and hook her up to the battery tender. Then I ride out the stablized gas, add a tank of hightest, then go back to normal. It's been three months since the last ride, too cold, wet, snowy. Maybe in a week or so when it warms up. Cheers

  8. Mental note: I really need to contact a glass company some time and see what I can get them to do for me.

I agree. However the site had glass inserts, I just don't know which of the four choices would be for the Bird. However, it's pricy and I think a decent local glass business could do something. I hope.

  9. Thanks, interresting site and I found the mirrors, pricy, and the glass inserts. I can't find an e-mail address to ask some questions. They have 4 types of mirror inserts but I don't know which one fits the Bird. Is there an address? Cheers

  10. My mates Bird has what appears to be polarized mirrors and they also appear to be adhered with something sticky. They look good, provice excellent rear vision and have a bluish tint. I forgot the web site but it ends in - - - - racing. Has anyone had experience with this product, I tired a www.viewzi.com search but nothing. Thanks
