  1. You’re bike has been shimmed. The bike might be 3 cm higher than stock, and leans over because of that. When I bought my 05 bike it is 3 cm higher than previous from the factory, and I almost shit my pants first time I put it on the Kickstand. :icon_shocked: The feeling of almost dropping the bike after it has 2 miles on the meter just sucks. I made a plate 18 mm thick that I put under it when I park.
  2. I scanned the page in Haynes manual.
  3. Everyone that uses sneakers and slip-ons will regret it if they drop the bike and the foot get caught under it. It hurts like hell, and you're damn lucky if you don't break any bones. I fucked up 2 times, and wearing proper boots and clothes that saved me twice. :icon_thumbsup: I learned of my mistakes, and haven't had any mishap in 10 years. (Knock wood)
  4. Thanks Bjorn! Your help is much appreciated. Are those pages out of the Honda service manual? If so, they look a lot different than the Honda manuals in the US. I noticed all the "British" spelling It's from Haynes service manual. Haynes CBR 1100 XX Service & repair manual I noticed you don't have theese books in USA. Haynes manuals Edit: Opps. You have these books. CBR1100XX Super Blackbird 1997-2002
  5. Mabe this can help. [attachmentid=5359] [attachmentid=5360]
  6. If the battery is shortcut, it will suck up all power, and in the end, nothing will work. My went totally flat and in the end I had to drive it without lights, and then the instruments died. I just made it home before the engine died. New battery installed, and no hiccups. My first worry was that the regulator was fucked up, but it’s normally the battery.
  7. +1 That's why I bought another one, and it's the best bike I ever have ridden. I doubt I'll change to another bike that's not a Honda CBR XX size & looks.
  8. Take contact with Honda in UK. Buy a bunch of new bikes without tax and ship them to US. That wouldn't be to expensive for you.
  9. Cool bike, and I love those rims.
  10. I got about 25,000 miles out of mine. 42,000 km. But it wasn't totally worn like the pics i attached. That came of the old Suzuki. I had to cut of 4 inches down in Austria before I rode back to Norway. [attachmentid=4419] [attachmentid=4420] [attachmentid=4421]
  11. The Iridium is to be changed every 50.000 km about 30.000 miles. Ref. Haynes work manual.. About the double of the platinum. And they are recomended from 97-06
  12. Hey there, fellow rider from the North! Thanks for the tip, but I doubt that the CCT is the problem here. CCT noise usually appears around 3500-4000rpm, and isn't affected by the clutch/gear. "My" rattling sound ONLY appears when I'm letting out the clutch in 1st or 2nd gear, BELOW 3000rpm.. Furthermore, the sound appears to get LOUDER as the engine heats up, as opposed to the CCT noise. Both the humming and rattling sound seem to escalate as the engine heats up. I guess this either has to do with the fact that the metal is expanding, or that the oil gets thinner when the engine reaches normal operating temperature..? PS. MCbamse, do you hang out on the Norwegian MC forum too? Haven't found any good Norwegian forums yet. Got any tip? Bamse, Vennesla MC, tidligere Sola MC
  13. Check this one out! http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=37551 Godt å se andre nordmenn her. Velkommen. Det er nok kammkjedestrammeren som er slakk. Hope to see you arround..

    12V outlet.

Nope! I'll use it to charge my phone on breaks, but there's no need for it when riding. All bikers alert each other when there is a radar trap. I've never been close to get caught in one. As soon there is sunny, bikers pop up all over. Almost get tired of all the saluting. :icon_wave: Wired directly. Never had any problem of power drain, and there had to be someone with an sharp eye to spot it.

    12V outlet.

I was a bit annoyed of removing the seat to get power for my air pump. We travel to about 12 to 16 bike rallies a year, and we use the pump often. I installed an 12V power outlet on the rear of the bike. I found one designed for boats that is air and water tight. Thought this might be helpful. [attachmentid=3810] [attachmentid=3811]
  16. Perfect upgrade for my XX'es..
  17. Especially when Honda put them on the Blackbird originally... Mine came with BT-57...
  18. I got 27.500 miles on my bike, and never had any noise from it. Is this something all has experienced ? :icon_shifty:
  19. Start lubricating. I got 25K out of mine, and it wasn't totally worn out. Changed it before a long trip.
  20. When I sold my GSX750ES it had 255.000 km on it. 220.000 km of those was mine. I didn't have any other vehicle, so I rode it all year for 8 years. I had to change the stator 4 times, and a new suspension spring. And several miner problems emerged. But it was a reliable bike. Had a trip down to Austria one year. Next year was down to Spain and back. Then a round tour in Europe. When I was in Austria i had to shorten the chain 10cm. About 4 inch. Then rode back to Norway. The Chain and sprocket is mounted on a board. Pics will be attached. The 97 'bird I have ridden 36.000 km, and the new bird 1900 km. That is about 258.000 km or 154.491 miles on a bike. In a car it is the double.
  21. I think he might mean that he put is ON the center stand while sitting on it....not take it off. MY MISTAKE. It said "I tried putting the center stand down while sitting on it" Have never even thought about getting the bike on the senterstand when sitting on it. Got confused. :icon_shifty: :icon_shifty:
  22. I'm big. 270 pounds, and always sit on the bike when i take it of the center stand. And this is my 7'th season on the 'bird. But I have to inform that I'm trying to get down to 180 pounds. There has to be another reason that one broke off.

    Will not idle

I have changed the gas twice - once to start it and get it home, and again after a few weeks to try to get rid of all the old gasoline. Before I bought it, it sat in a garage long enough to accumulate a lot of spider webs and for the battery to die. Dude! That is molesting of a beautiful 'bird... Good of you to save it.. :icon_clap:

    Dead Bird

Well done, but 10 days of the road because of a hidden fucking fuse sucks... :icon_wall: :icon_wall:
