    Micron 4-2-1

I'm sure someone has asked this before but I'll ask again. Anyone running a Micron 4-2-1 System. I am considering it, and how do you like, (sound versus HP) any maps for it?? Thanx for the info and help in advance. Vic......
  2. Hey Herb, You probably need to make sure it is the switch first and not just a bad connection. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, pull off the connector on the nuetral switch. Using a piece of wire, ground out the connector end of the switch wire harness. Turn the ignition switch to on and see if the light comes on. If it does then the switch is bad. Replacing the switch is easy. Get a deep well 14 or 15mm socket and screw it out of the crankcase. The switch is on the crankcase on the left side of the bike right next to the sidestand. You have to get down low to see it. I have a 2000 I just replaced mine yesterday. Good luck.
  3. The thicker tube is the fuel overflow and the thinner one is the tank vent. How is your gas mileage? Take off the tank again and check all your vent lines into the throttle body. And hook up that tank vent line, it connects to a small nipple right under the tank.
  4. Well I just pulled off the vacuum hose to the pressure regulator and gas started coming out of the vacuum nipple and dripping from the vacuum line. I guess its safe to call the pressure regulator F@$&!!!
  5. Alright I bought my new 2000 bird from the Superman guy a couple months back. After riding OK for a couple of days the bike Hydrolocked on me. I opened the bike up pulled the injectors. Had them sent out to be sonic cleaned and flow tested. According to the test data they seemed to be pretty good. I changed the plugs, two oil changes and pumped as much fuel out of the cylinders as I could. Put the bike back together cranked her up and watched excessive amounts of fuel being pumped out of the exhaust seal between the mid-pipe and the can. At first I thought it was just the gas I couldn't get out of the exhaust. But after about 5 gallons of fuel and two days later.........it's got to be more. What I'm thinking is This fuel flow issue must have been the original reason why the bike hydrolocked in the first place, seeeing as the injectors came back good. Now with too much fuel being pumped through the fuel rail and into the cylinders, it's just being pushed out of the exhaust valves and through the pipes. My guess is Pressure regulator or maybe Fuel pump(unlikely though). I had a thread about a month ago about the hydrolocked issue. Anyway I got a 2000 bird with about 400 miles on it. I'm now guessing I'm going to have a few issues with any parts that sat in the fuel for that long period. Any help ????? or suggestions would be great. Thanx, Vic....
  6. I pulled all the plugs out adn found #1 and #4 fouled and gas soaked. I think there is still gas in those two cylinders because of how wet the two plugs were. #2 and #3 were fine,(I'm gonna change them anyway), Looks like #1 and #4 injectors got stuck open. I'm gonna send all injectors out to be sonic cleaned and flow tested. Any easy way to get that gas out of those two cylinders? I don't really want to leave it in there if it is alot then foul up the new plugs. Suggestions???? Thanx, Vic
  7. I've got my whole airbox and, fuel rail and injectors out of my 00 bird, I was wondering,... :icon_think: anyone know of any simple air conversion mods I can do now since I got it all ripped off of the TB anyway? Thanx, Vic
  8. What's up Birdlovers, Anyone know of a decent injector (sonic)cleaning service shop somewhere close to the Wash DC area or...Hell, anywhere in the northeast for that matter? Thanx, Vic
  9. . Shit you're right around the corner. Get her going and meet us in Ephrata Pa Sunday I'm sure as hell gonna try!, I'm having withdrawls from not riding!
  10. Thanks for the link Red, I'm in the Washington DC metro area of Maryland.
  11. FYI Vic, Your new bike was discussed back in June on this board. You bought it from the guy kept it next to superman. Yep, thats my bike! And thats the Superman Guy I bought it from...
  12. I'm not really sure Mrbad, I bought it from a guy in Fla. who writes comic books for Marvel or something. He has alot of expensive toys but does little or nothing with them..i.e. Boats, a 76' Vette low milage etc. He had the bike in his living room. He says he bought it to cruise around on with his girlfriend but she didn't like the bike, so he pretty much parked it. I got it for a great price shipped it here to MD. I thought after sittting for such a long time that the bike might have a few kinks to iron out. But I love it. If you ask me, he sounded a little "bitchy" and we all know the "Bird" can be a beast that will bite, I think he got scared after feeling the power his right wrist can deliver to his ass! Happens to the best of them. All my Suzuki Busa buddies are drooling over my bird. At any rate his loss my gain!!!!
  13. Thanx alot guys... Like rockmeup says it makes sense now. After I pulled over and the bike stalled, I kept trying to start it to see if I could get any clue as to the problem and after a few times it did lock up,(which scared the shit out of me), but then after a minute or so it would turn over again. I'm going to go pick it up bring it home pull the tank, the airbox, the plugs and hit the start button and push whatever gas maybe in the cylinders out. They did do one oil change and said there was some gas in it. But again you guys have been alot of help thanx, I'm just pissed 'cause I ain't ridin'!!!!!! I'll let you know how it turned out.
  14. Hey good people, I'm a new member glad to be onboard. I bought a 2000 XX with 400 miles on it about a month ago. Was running beautifull until about lastweek. I was riding, (still babying the bike 'cause I know it had not even really been broken in yet), on a nice twisty back road here in MD when the bike began to loose power. It kept running but I could tell it gradually began to loose more power. When I pulled over the bike shut off and would not start again. She would turnover but wouldn't fire up. Took the bike to the shop. They say it hydrolocked, (injector stuck open dumping gas in the engine), My question is they want to charge me $1000 bucks to get her going again, that sounds a little steep to me, They want to change the fuel pump, pressure regulator, fuel regulator, two oil changes, clean injectors, clean exhaust, change plugs...etc.. > I'm a pretty competent mechanic on cars , but never really worked on any bikes, I think I could do most of the work, but what is really neccessary to do to get my baby bird back in the twisty's Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks Vic
