  1. Some things are a surplus. I'm not totally getting out of riding. But I do have some vision problems, so that doesn't really go well with piloting your own bike. I'm trying to sell my 250 Ninja and I've already purchased a Yamaha TTR125 to bomb around the farm on. Maybe I'll get another street bike down the road, but for now I really don't want the Ninja sitting for an extended period of time as it wouldn't be good for it. Anybody want to buy a 2007 Ninja 250 or a 2006 Kawasaki ZX6?? I honestly couldn't tell you. It's a big on me. I know that it's a little roomier without the liner in it, though. Yes, you have first dibs on the boots. Check your PMs. Gotcha. I should know in a couple hours when I see him.

Just been shoved in a storage container for a couple years is all. $35.00 + shipping I don't have a picture of it as I don't have a bike that it can be put on anymore. 3. Looks awesome, Todd! Can't wait to come down and see it.
  4. Boric acid mixed with grape jelly. Put in small containers. Ants carry boric acid back to queen, she eats it and they all die. You can get boric acid at your local pharmacy. This is an indoor ant problem-solver, but I'd think if you cover the container properly where the ants can still get in, it may work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I killed a queen ant before. It was pretty cool to actually see one up close -- really big compared to the worker ants. I was surprised to see her in an ant trap that I had!
  5. looking good, todd! can't wait to get back down there to see all you new/updated things.
  6. That looks awesome, Carlos. Love the backlighting with the mirror - verry cool.

    DECKS!

I would definitely recommend the new vinyl-type decking when building a deck. It costs more, but compared to treated lumber, it'll look nicer, last longer, no maintenance (like power washing and staining), plus you won't get splinters in your bare feet! We have two decks on our house that Don built with treated lumber. One is 16x30 and the other is 8x8 (I think). If you wanna see pics, I can post some. edit: One thing to think about if you go with treated lumber: Don't use a dark stain because it gets HOT on your bare feet if you have no shade.
  8. If you're looking for cheaper plastics or OEM parts, you can join the Honda Sportbike Network forum. When you get several posts on there, you can go to one of their sponsors (Honda of CoolSprings) and get 25% off plastics. Go to: www.hondasportbikenetwork.com This is one thing it says in their portion of the forum: PLEASE NOTE: Please respect our sponsor and their willingness to help us out. In this section, Honda of CoolSprings will identify discounted prices that they can provide on all OEM Parts and OEM Plastics. The standard discount for HSBN members is, 15% off all OEM parts and 25% of all OEM plastic. In some cases, their prices won't be the lowest that you can find on the 'net, but in many cases they are. If you find a price lower, please don't post the information here. Posts in this section containing prices from other providers will be deleted. Thank you for your understanding. Plus while you're there, you can enter their raffle for a 2003 CBR954 ($10/ticket!)
  9. TimXX - I will ride with hubby on his XX from time to time, so I'll try to help you from a pillion's viewpoint. If hubby goes at speeds above 120, and I'm looking around him as he's reaching these speeds, it's hard for me to get my head positioned directly behind his because of the force. But when I "do" have my head directly behind his, he can reach speeds up to 135 before my helmet feels like it's going to be pulled off (but it doesn't, of course). Buffeting is really no problem, but I wear earplugs. Suggest earplugs to your girl, if she doesn't already use them, she'll love them. I wear the type with a cord that attaches to each so I won't lose them (Home Depot $2, green ones). Windscreen: ZG Sport Touring (dark smoke color, $89) My Helmet: Shoei RF900 My height: 5'6" Hubby's height: 6' Hope this helps ya some.
  10. I can't help you myself, but there's a few guys at the following forum that could. Some very helpful people at: http://pub127.ezboard.com/bhondasportbikenetwork
  11. Yes, the shop on Plainfield. A couple of the guys there are good, but then there are a couple that we avoid. That's where Don got his XX in 2000, and I purchased my XR200 from them. My other 3 bikes I bought elsewhere.
  12. TimXX - FWIW, Don has a Zero Gravity (Sport Touring model) shield on his bike ($80). I just rode close to 700 miles on it this past weekend and wasn't bothered by the wind. (see Mackinac Bridge Ride Report post in The Pub). I know someone who just put the Cheetah on their VFR and he's not happy with the looks -- says his bike looks like a Triceratops now.

    Which Bars

Don (my husband) first had the HeliBars and didn't like them, so took them off. He got a pair of VFR bars about 2 months ago and is MUCH happier with them. It's not gonna feel like a FZ1, but it's better than the stock bars. Edit: BTW, we printed out the Ron Ayers form showing how much they charge for the bars (using the shopping cart part of their website), brought it to the bike shop we use, and they matched the price with no problem.
  14. It's the only Honda dealership we've dealt with for the past 3 years(Village Motorsports in GR), so they know us pretty good. What I would do is go to ronayers.com, click on the bars and put them in the shopping cart and go all the way like you're going to purchase them, then print out that page. Bring that to your regular dealership and ask them if they'll match that price. I'm not sure if Village would be willing to do it with someone over the phone, sight-unseen. We spent a bunch of money with them this spring (probably over $2500), so that may be another reason why they matched it. I noticed it, but I wasn't going to say anything.
  15. Right Handlebar: 53100-MCW-D00 Left Handlebar: 53150-MCW-D00 Speedfreek - I did a "cut & paste" directly from ronayers website to give you the above numbers. I also used these numbers to order my husband's VFR bars for his XX a couple weeks ago. We ordered the bars directly from our Honda dealer cuz I asked them to match ronayers' price -- which they didn't hesitate to do. edit: He got the bars (in 3 days), installed 'em and loves 'em.
  16. It not only happens with the Double X, it happens now and then with my F4 as well.
  17. First I want to thank mickcbr1100 for posting the link. Now, when I try to download from the link cbrxx posted, it keeps failing. Is there another way I can get to it? (it's pics and a tutorial, I believe) Thank you!!
