  1. I have to 36 Liter Givi side cases and noticed that I had a no hand woble expecially under deceleration. I dropped the forks through the triple tree about 10 MM, Still had a little woble. Then I did the washer shim on the rear end, I believe it's 6mm and that seemed to eliminate it. Chris
  2. I still think your better off with a DOT helmet - even though its self regulated, the test shows a lower G's being passed on to the rider, combined with multiple injuries you are better off when there is less trauma to the brain. The article and related studies show that a multiple strike in the same location is very rare, and given that the 2 hit test of the Snell standard forces the helmet manufactures to use a firmer sublayer causing higher G loads to the brain. As the Hurt report also spelled out is that essentially there were no deaths to helmeted riders from head injuries alone. In the COST study they concluded that the current helmets where too stiff and too resilent. I currently have a Shuberth Concept with the ECE22-05 standard and I'm glad I din't pay for the Snell hype that goes with Snell certified helmets. I would fill comfortable buying a DOT certified helmet if it fit all my criteria after reading that article.
  3. Thanks for the summary, may need to look at changing sprockets. I have a new chain already waiting to be put on. My 2nd chain has lasted so much longer than my stock one. I have 30K on my 02 and the 2nd chain has held up really well. Chris
  4. Net effect? Chain length kept the same with 1T gain in front and 1T drop in back=more torque, correct for given rpm? So do you get the wheel off the ground easier and loose some top speed? Thanks Chris

  7. I experienced the same thing, running E36's on the side and had quite a bit od shake. Dropped front end about 6mm by loosening triple clamps and letting the fork tubes slide up a little, that helped quite a bit, alot less shake. I think I'm going to try the rear shock wwsher shim next to raise back end, then play with sliding the fork tubes back down. Definately want to maintain ground clearence when riding two up and loaded.
