Is there any truth to the statement that, slip ons will give you more torque, and a 4 into 1 system will add more for top end gains? Thanks.

I am considering an exhaust change, but I just put on the OEM panniers (from Sport Touring Accessories) which will stay on the bike permenantly. My questions are: If I go with slip ons, (I'm leaning towards titanium, or stainless) does oval have an advantage over round, will oval fit? What are the pros and cons between Staintunes, Blue Flames, Jardine, or Erions? My goal is to keep the exhaust quiet as possible (stealth mode so as to not draw attention from "The man") with gaining torque, and losing the weight of the OEM cans. If a "Ti Force" or "Akropoviac" full system (4 into 1) will clear my panniers will it be much louder than stock?, is the oil filter still accessible?, will the center stand still be usable? I really don't want to remap the FI because I have no jerkyness or bucking what so ever. Staintunes claim no jetting or computer work is necessary. I don't care about gaining top end (when I blew around a fat tire HD at 148 mph indicated, I had a shit stain in my skivvies), meaning this bike is faster than I'll ever need. This is an 02 Bird with a completely stock engine. Opinions please!

Thanks for the replies guys! I have heard that the standard for fork oils varies (Silkolene 10wt. isn't the same as say Bel-Ray 10wt. etc.) That is probably why I'm going with genuine Honda oil. Thanks for the tip Involute, I'll mix a 5 with a 10 and bam..... 7.5wt.

I'm putting in my new Race Tech 1.0kg springs and I'm undecided between 5wt. or 7.5wt. I weigh 215lbs. Probably using Honda oil(do they even make 7.5wt?) Opinions please.

Does any aftermarket company make adjustable footpegs(need to be lower than stock) for our Blackbirds? I've got 2000+ miles on my 02' BB(this is my first Sport-type bike) and my knees are killing me after about an hour or so in the saddle. I've tried moving around on the seat, riding on the balls of my feet, bending at the hips but it doesn't seem to matter. I have no discomfort anywhere else. Neck, shoulders, back are all comfortable(I put VFR bars on) What am I doing wrong? I'm 5' 11" with a 32" inseam, 44 years old(ain't no geezer yet) and slightly overweight(215) I thought I read somewhere about a German manufacturer that made adjustables but were kind of pricey. I read about the Buell pegs conversion, but what do you gain about an inch down and back? Help!

Will the Laminar Lip work on the ZG DB, or would I have to put on the stock shield? The main reason for a taller windshield is encountering heavy rain and/or windblast fatigue.

Need some input on a couple of windshields. I have a ZG DB on my 02' now, and with the VFR bars on , the wind hits me in my upper chest. Doing some touring up north in a few weeks, and am considering a taller windscreen. How about some pros/cons for the Givi ST vs. the ZG ST or other brands? Thanks!

OK guys, there is 8500 miles on the OEM BattleAxes, and since I'm new to GT bikes, I need some input on what tires to go with next? I'm 5' 10", weigh 215, always ride solo(old lady won't ride anymore) I commute to work (25 miles round trip), and ride on weekends. I'm not very aggressive and rarely ride in the rain. All views welcome!

Can anyone tell me if the internals + Throttlemeister that are in my original 2002 handlebars(Blackbird) will fit in the new 2002- 2005 VFR bars I purchased? Also, will the BMW Sport Grips that are for the stock bars(Blackbird) fit the VFR bars? Thanks! PS: What do you guys use to slide on new grips? (dish soap, go-jo, monkey spunk)

Couple of questions. Does a higher octane fuel burn cooler than a lower octane fuel? I was told this by a car drag racer. Does running a higher octane keep your cylinders & heads cleaner from carbon deposits? The guy I bought my 2002 Bird from(original owner) only ran 92 octane(7000 miles) Am I wasting money by running 92 or 93? Thanks!
