  1. I'd pass @ $5k. Once you start riding it, it'll no longer be a low mileage bike, right? Here's a link to another one w/10K miles that you should be able to get for closer to $4k. http://www.cbrxx.com/for-sale-wanted/8699-...make-offer.html Good Luck!
  2. Yes, both F+R early wheels were bent. I also scored a set of late forks & clamps for less than it would have cost me to refinish the early forks (I have those as well for trade). So I have an early bird, with a late front end, with a (bent) early front wheel on it. I also have a late, straight, refinished front wheel with new bearings, and a good Pirelli mounted. I can wait for a good deal on the disks, but I'm kinda annoyed at myself, so am venting.
  3. Well, I'm annoyed. I went to put my early front brake discs on my late front wheel, and they will not fit. So I'm looking for a set of late discs in good condition. I have front and rear discs from a early bike if you'd like to trade. My discs have only 4k miles on them, so, yahoo. Also have a spare set of F+R calipers, and some early wheels, bent, but repairable. All you old hands can stop laughing now. PM me with whatcha got, and whatcha want for it. Arg.
  4. Man, where were you last year? Get ready to say goodbye to your baby soon with that price!
  5. I was looking to refine the design of this, and found another site. I have not (yet) tried any of these schematics, and would very much appreciate comments on them All Auto Circuits: http://www.redcircuits.com/Auto.htm Basic Tail/Brake Lights: http://www.redcircuits.com/Page85.htm Sequential Brake/Turn Lights: http://www.redcircuits.com/Page128.htm And another site that modulates LED flashing to control brightness: http://www.reuk.co.uk/LED-Dimmer-Circuit.htm Any thoughts on these? Gracias!
  6. F4i, thanks for posting this. I finally got all the materials together and ran a test on 1 circuit today. Worked like a champ! I'm going to be replacing the running lamps on my trailer first, there are 2 that have been an ongoing PITA with bad connections. Now I'm replacing the entire bulb ass'y with these. Best thing is that LED trailer lights are $20. Cost of this rig is under $2 per lamp. More cash to blow on my, um, transgressions. And for those who are loving the premade LED lamps, while they look and work real neat, the cost for them is astounding. I'd rather do this, and keep the cash for tires. Thanks again!
  7. Weird, but good! Hopefully Cali. is learning!
  8. So they moved from Naeava, a low tax state, to California, an insanely over taxed state? Wish you asked the owner about that John. Most businesses that can get out are bailing from Cali - now with 11% unemployment, and 10% and up sales tax!
  9. I dunno about you guys, but I'm going to slap some decals on my bike and sell it for about a billion dollars. I figure some pix of Dirk Diggler or Hobicus will do the trick. I also need the 200 MPH jet kit. I think I saw some of those on Craigs list. This will be so much better than working!
  10. You could pull them apart, find someone with a lathe, and take an emery cloth to them. If the pitting is @ the top, it won't affect the seals. Reassemble w / new seals and enjoy.
  11. +1 used it several times Ditto, used twice, Here's the guy I used to transport my 'bird from Ohio to California. Richard Rose Action Transport actiontransport24@yahoo.com He transports a lot of Harleys to Daytona and Sturgis as well, but don't hold that against him.
  12. I have an '01 on my '97. Direct bolt-in.
  13. Sondance, it's vici, veni, vidi (I saw, I conquered, I came) Is this thread now NWS?
  14. I have to think the determining issue would be timing. I've bought frames for $1, and have them offered to me for free, just to get rid of the darn thing. One has been going begging on eBay for months @ $600 or best offer. On the other hand, if you're offering it at the same time someone has decided to crash their bike, or someone is starting a project, you may score. While a 97 frame will fit all years, putting an FI engine on it will raise "franken-bird' questions when the bike is sold. We are also in the dead of winter, so unless folks east of the Rockies have heated garages, their projects are on hold. You may do better in the spring. I guess you just never know, but I think that if you want to move it fast, $100 will get it out of the garage. One other thing, if the mileage on the frame when last titled is too high, that will affect the value of the bike @ resale as well. If it's north of 20k, I'd expect a price hit. I appreciate that the Blackbirds can and do go over 100K miles with ease, but the market does not. Oh, I'm assuming this for the frame only. If you want to sell the frame and motor as a package, I have no idea! I think I saw a frame/engine package on craig's list for $700 a couple of months ago, with around 14K miles if memory serves, but that was not sold as far as I know. I did buy the oil cooler lines off the guy. Best of luck.
  15. PM me if that other one doesn't come through, I have a spare coming in next week.
  16. John, is the right side NLA, or just insanely expensive?
  17. I don't know what's up here. No response to my PMs either. Hope he's OK. Either that or the PM system has croaked. Been tied up with work, and family obligations. I plan on moving on this this weekend, but if I dont, I have vacation time coming in a little over a week and will do it then. I dont have a day off work until my vacation either... :icon_doh: Np prob, thought you might have dropped it somewhere. Have fun, fun, fun with the move!

  19. PM sent a few days ago, also, if the keys to the bike are original, I might be interested in the lockset. Also the Brake/clutch levers. Thanks!
