Thanks for the answers. I had guessed that there would be issues, and now I know for sure.

I had front forks rebuilt on my '03 bird using Race Tec and like the results, so now I'm on to the shock. I'm looking to buy a Penske 8983. After searching through the various threads here, it seems that all of the folks with Penske shocks have installed the version with remote reservoir. Are there clearance issues in installing the piggyback version? Thanks.
