  1. I am in the same boat the hollidays really put a hurtin on me I am 5' 9" and I am wieghing in at 191 I have not been this heavy since I was in school gravity is a very bad thing. I would like to loose at least 10 lbs and tone up what muscle I do have maybe build a little more. Basically push my gut upward. My wife and I are going to exercise together cause she needs to do it for her back and she would also like to loose about 10 lbs. Here is to everyone lets all try to keep our goals. Good Luck to all
  2. That watch sucks there are no numbers on it :icon_duh: I would only give you .50 cents cause it is a fake. :icon_nana: My $10 watch tells time just as good and I don't have to worry if I scratch it or loose it.
  3. I pussed out today and took the cage it was 8 degrees. BUUURRRR :icon_shifty: I am waiting the man says that next week will be in the upper 50's to mid 60's so I will be riding again. I don't have any heated grips or gear so my low temp limit is about 20 degrees. It is no fun if it is any colder than that.
  4. Make a scraper out of plie wood and a pole long enough to reach the peak of the roof from the gutter. Than standing on an extension ladder scrape the snow off the roof. Then you can salt the ice. Once the snow is off the roof the sun should be enough to keep the roof clear till the next snow then the fun starts all over. Be safe and good luck. NO FEAR OF FALLING! :-)
  5. Thanks. Any idea where I can see a diagram that shows me what the #2 vauum port is? If you have a shop manuel it will show you what you are looking for. I agree with MrbadExxample that would be the only thing stopping the fuel from reaching the carbs. You may have a crack in the vacuum line causing the diaphragm from staying open that is why it would only run for a few seconds. If the line was off it would not allow any fuel to the carb and the motor wouldn't even sputter. Good luck with your trouble shooting.
  6. The plastic that I used was an old mig welding spool that I saved. I reconstructed the bolt hole on the top of the left side lower fairing also filled a hole in the top corner of the same piece. I have not had any problems with it cracking in a year of use since the repair.
  7. What a bunch of wise asses! Welcome aboard take nothing these guys say seriously. :-)
  8. I was cleaning out my actic in my shed and found these. Front and rear fender flares, bikini top (Nutmeg) and a hyper flex polly urothaine bushing kit. Some of the kit was used on my jeep before I sold it. There are still trans, spring, engine, and some other mis. bushings. I am not looking to make money on this stuff but will not throw it away. If anyone is interested you can have it for shipping cost. PM me if interested.
  9. Save your $ and get a $10 soldering iron. I repaired both of my lower fairings last winter and they turned out great. I just melted new plastic into place and reshaped with sandpaper then reinforced the back with fiberglass.
  10. He really wants to do it just to add it to the list of mods on the bike. It is that uncontrollable urge to change something on a perfectly good bike. That bike will never make it on it's side as long as Dave has it and if it does that will be the last thing on his mind. :-) Right Dave?
  11. I am still working on my Pilot Road rear and it has just about 7k and still not to the year bars yet, great tire. I am kicking the idea around of trying something else but not sure what I want yet. I guess whichever 1 I get the best price on.
  12. Very glad to hear you came to your senses Doug. The bird is an awesome bike, and has been proving it's self for 10 years now. :-)
  13. I would lean more toward the shifting drum or a bent shifting fork rather than a chipped gear. You would have found metal in the oil or pan with a gear. Either way you have to open the trans to make the repair. Good luck.
  14. Any time something is targeted for a motorcycle only sale the price goes up. Look at the oil filters honda charges somewhere around 10 bucks but I buy the purolator for about $4. They just seem to think it is worth more for a m\c.
  15. Stefan....read the posts jerky ! is wrong with my post bitch? So what ya been up to Slappy? Glad to hear you got it up and runnig again Steve. It could have been worse.
  16. +1 on the plugs and bleeding the fuel line. I don't think you did any damage to the motor it is just fouled from the diesel not burning cleanly. The station should be responsable for any repair bill that you generate. LOL getting it started Steve if I can help in any way let me know you are not that far from me I would be happy to help out.
  17. We had some numb nut fill a gas welder at work with diesel. All I did was drain the tank and refill with clean gas and poured gas in the carb to get it running and it is fine that was 2 years ago. Just drain the tank and bleed the injection system and it will be fine. Diesel will not ignite with a cold gas engine. Hot maybe. Get some clean gas to the injecters and it will fire right up and be fine. LOL.
  18. I do it all the time from 3rd gear on up if done correctly will not harm anything. I just apply light pressure to the shifter and back off the throttle and it slips right into the nexxt gear. Don't force it though then you can do some damage.
  19. I highly dout that you bent the fork tube on such an easy flop. try putting the bike on the centerstand and loosen up the triple clamps it sounds like the forks may have just twisted in the tripletrees. Or it may be the fairing stay may have gotten bent slightly, giving you the appearance that the forks are off. LOL
  20. Your not going to the DARK SIDE are you????? :icon_shifty: I know how you feel with the work thing my place has slowed way down and it is starting to hurt :icon_wall: Thank god for side work to feed my habit I have been working on more AC units than earth movers :icon_think: LoL selling the Bird.
  21. You mean these bikes in over 6 k damn. :-)
