  4. WD 40.....I put that shit on everything. It works for the sticky keys, gets the oil over-spray from the Pro-oiler off, removes adhesive residue, I pre treat clothing before I wash it to get off oil, grease or grass stains, gets water spots off windows. It's fucking magic I tell you.
  5. I hit mine with wd 40 when they start getting difficult. 2cents
  6. Actually, I'm not. HOW am I to test voltage output of a stator (unplugged) if I hard wire it to the R/R? There are no terminals to attach to. Plugs are gone. Wires are soldered together and sealed in shrink wrap. Now, if you connect the stator to the R/R with terminal connectors, you just have to unplug the stator wires to test, then reconnect them when you're done. Or is there some 3rd way I'm missing? Ok heres an idea or two. A) wire your voltmeter into the stator. wire in a test port................. edit I havee no idea if this will work.

  12. Never said NO potholes....but it's a myth that they are any worse than anywhere else. I don't know how they got bent. your joking right Dave? I bent both rims on one pot hole on Queens Blvd. Madison ave is one of the worst for pot holes and warped tar. I laugh at the bump ahead, and bumpy road signs I see in CT and NJ their roads are perfect compared with the ones here. clicky Quote "We have already filled almost 117,000 potholes, roughly 62-percent more than the number we filled in the same period last year,"
  13. the hardest part was trying to locate the ballasts the rest of it is pretty straight forward. If you get the new slim ballast's they are much easier to locate . On the 03 i stuck them with double sided tape and then cable tied them to the ram air tubes. 2cents
  14. Anybody have a new beetle? Girlfriend of the son has a 2008 Beetle. Had to change the low beam bulbs last week. Monday ,(yesterday) they have both blown again. Googled the problem and turns out it is a common thing for Beetles and Jettas. The drivers side low beam will go first then the passengers side. Just getting to the bulbs is difficult the first time, as the whole light unit comes out without the attached wires. Any ideas................
  15. I don't show any Restraint after installing a new chain, I check it after the first ride tho. the brakes don't get any rest from me either.
  16. I believe the suggestions for changing the oil twice may be stemming from the fact that; having fuel in your oil, and running your motor, will cause a significant amount of wear, leaving behind more crap in the oil. Changing twice will help to clean out these extra deposits and concetrated dirty oil. Anyone else have some educated opinion on this? Because mine is just theoretical BS coming out my ass. seems like the logical thing to do and besides whats the cost? If it was me I'd definitely do at least two changes maybe three rather than risk fucking up something major. 2 Cents
  17. I have these. I will get some more pics when I get home if your interested, they are not on the bird no-mo. Two Bros with out the badges. S/S if your interested.
  18. it has enough power for me I am 6"6" and 315 It will take a bit of getting used to for the fit, but it aint anything different than we are used to anyway, squeezing into small car's with your knees up around the windows....... etc ............. I've owned mine since 97 ................... good luck.
  19. I've never even tried 87. I run 93 and have since the bike was new. I mean the thing said 91 so the closest we have is 93. The plugs I just swaped out were honeycomb in color and I probably could have run them much longer. The engine runs electric smooth and no buzzing at all. I can ride that thing for mile after mile in comfort. Running the higher octane won't hurt anything........except your wallet. :icon_doh: Mine don't like anything but 87 runs like shit on 91 2 cents
