  1. It would seem to be where the needles are clipped in the carbs. I would check valve clearance anyway. Clean out the throttle bores and the butterfly with carb cleaner, sync the carbs anyway. If all is well, move the needles. Which way is the question. If its just soft through the stumble, its rich, if it stutters, its lean.

    No, not that far

Swap the high and low bulbs every year to balance out the "maturation". As anyone with these knows, you end up not running the high beam during the day, LOL!
  4. You can try these, they are DOT legal (have the stamping on the lens) and have a reflector, not just a bulb in a housing so you get a whole lens of light, not a bright spot and the rest dark like the rest. DOT signals I also took them a step further and put a white 30 LED board in them to fill up the lens. Super brignt and visible from all angles like a stock bulb, most LEDs are only visible if they are pointed directly at you. I wired them both on to take the 2nd pic.
  5. I did 5mm up front. It was good. Then I made it 10 and the bike seemed somewhat nervous, needing constant attention. I went back to 7mm and it was fine. (Correct springs in the forks). I added a Penske shock a year later that was slightly longer that raised the rear about 10mm and it quickend the steering a tad but did NOT make it nervous feeling. For looks, do what you may, for real benefit, raise the rear and stay away from fork straps on the street.
  6. There is no paint where he is polishing. Yep, too much compound and dont forget to clean the wheel periodically to remove excess/dirty compound.
  7. Home Depot carries all the polishing wheels and compound sticks you need.
  8. Get a 2 wire non-load dependent flasher from your local auto parts store. I tried working out a 3 wire one (we have 3 wires) and never got it to work. I just left one wire off (forgot which) and it works 100%.
  9. Make sure you measure each side as your bike and springs are different than everyone elses.
  10. Are you sure somone didnt get the clear signals and put those dumbass chrome coated bulbs in that came with them in? If you have yellow lenses, put in clear bulbs. If you have clear lenses, put in yellow bulbs(or the Silverstars). For rear signals, try these, they are bright as hell because they actually have a reflector in them and are DOT approved to boot! 11. In the box are DIRECTIONS on how long you need to make the spacers LOL. Measure each side and cut them as the springs may be slightly different. Basically you lower the forks, drop the springs in and the washer on top and measure the distance to the top (lets say 5in). Then measure the fork cap from where the spring sits to the lip of the cap(lets say its 2in). 5in-2in is 3in of free space. RT usually specifies 20mm of preload so 3in(76mm) + 20mm is 96mm(3.75in). Hope that helps, but seriously, they have good directions in the box.
  12. Why not just be done with it and get one from A.P.E.?
  13. I had that on my 99. You need to install the latest software on yout computer and reload the map.
  14. My stock 99 with a Micron made 150 at the wheel. it flows well and sounds right.

    954 wheels

Hmm, never thought of that. I have a spare set of 929 wheels. I know the rear wheel is different(cush drive, brake dia., 1/2in wider). The front may measure up to match though.
  16. So all the delink brackets are discontinued?
  17. Hello all! I was wondering for those of you who have delinked your XXs, where to get the bracket to eliminate the fork mounted master cylinder. The rest of the job i can handle. Thanks! A PM will be fine.
