  1. I use MIT100 www.imc-communication.com . Mike are always on so you need a very good helmet on an XX because the mike will capture the wind noise. With my schuberth S1 it's ok but my girl friends helmet have nothing near the chin to stop the wind so I put some tape to stop the wind entering her helmet by the bottom. It helped but it's not as good as my helmet. I also modified her kit to turn off her mike on long highway ride at speed over 120Km/h. A small switch. MP3 GPS Phone... and with a FRS I speak bike to bike perfectly.
  2. I have a datatool DG8 Blue display for 3 years. I recommand it. Never had any trouble seeing in wich gear I am.
  3. My 99 is begening to light up the FI light. Sometime the FI light glow very low, medium and sometime full On. It light up at idle (11.3 to 12V) or when running at higher RPM (14.4V), to turn it off, I need to blip the front break or turn on high beam!! I have a Voltmeter always connected. I always monitor my battery and i know that I have to change it soon.
  4. the gearing slightly affect the result : http://sportrider.com/tech/146_0406_motorcycle_dyno04_z.jpg the tire slightly affect the number : http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0406_mo...le_dyno03_z.jpg the weather, temperature, humidity, oil, air filter, spark plug, valve, chain lubrification affect the result. And the bigest thing affecting the result is the dyno and is operator. "Our TL1000R test unit (June 2000) measured 102.1 horsepower on a Factory Pro eddy current dyno, and 118.9 horsepower on a Dynojet inertia dyno. According to Salvisberg, Factory Pro eddy current dynos read 14 to 15 percent lower than say, a Dynojet inertia dynamometer in the 90 to 100 horsepower range, with even more difference at higher power levels." Source: http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0102_dyno/ The same bike on 2 different dyno. It's not the first time I read an article that had big difference. We can't compare the HP number of our bike because they were not tested on the same dyno. As I look at your (EVLXX) dyno sheet, there is a 4 ft-lbs (8%) difference in torque between 5000 to 6300 RPM range and you never loose anywhere on the graph. This is for me a good thing because I like to play in this area. But how does it cost to gain some torque and a good sound. The sound can make use feel that the bike is pulling harder but is it just making more sound? Lift you tv from the ground to your head without doing noise and do the same will crying. Are you stronger because your making noise? Thanks for trying and sharing your experience EVLXX but your bike was not stock. You have a longer head pipe. If it was really stock, will you get the famous 20hp?? oufff
  5. something I wanted to add but never did is a manual override switch that can activate the fan when I want. When I know i'm going to be trap in traffic, I want to start the fan BEFORE it goes near the red line. Did someone know where to connect this switch?
  6. ouff i'm far from your number. Mine are true hp 125.8 in gear 4 @9505 RPM. All stock 1999 xx Here is my dyno sheet : http://cf.geocities.com/danzig6969ca/dynoc...x1999_gear4.jpg http://cf.geocities.com/danzig6969ca/dynoc...1999_gear4b.jpg There is a difference between HP and True HP. Depending on the correction methode you use, you can make the number said what the customer want! More info about true HP here : http://www.factorypro.com/dyno/trueHDpower.html
  7. I put mine on the same part as zer0netgain but on the left side. I don't have to release throttle and don't need to look where my hand goe! Heated grip is a really good (a must) thing to have! Putting it under the instrument cluster is more dangerous. Access is more restricted.
  8. Mine is a 1999. If I pull the clutch from neutral to 1, A clunck can be heard and feel. If I pull the clutch from neutral, count till 4 or 5 then put it in first gear. A small click almost not niticeable. If I pull the clutch in neutral and wait 10 secondes before putting it in 1. It would not go in first gear, I need to release the clutch, (I can here something starting to turn) pull it and then count till 4 or 5 for a smooth entry in first gear. Passing from 1 to second gear a grrchhh can be heard depend on the RPM. The faster the RPM is, the stronger the grrrchh is. Other gear are noise less.

  14. A preload adjustement on an AK-20 Will permit me to varry my weight of how many pound? What is the range (in pound) of this adjuster? Supose we have 33mm of front preload with a 190Lb rider and a specific spring for this rider, preload adjuster in position 3.5/7. Preload at 1 space visible will permit me how many pound of weight? Preload at 7 will permit how many pound? The reason of my question is: if I put a 20 pound thank bag, how will it affect the rider sag? 1,2,8 mm? Did someone here already try this at home?
