  1. I just skipped the mixes and bought the straight creatine powder from GNC, much cheaper that way. Everything they put in most creatine drink mixes can be sourced way cheaper elsewhere and a lot of it is straight up crap, as in sugar. I was doing 2-3 five gram doses a day and it definitely helped my lifts. I personally saw no benefit to "loading" pre or post workout. Just take it in on a regular basis to keep your levels up. BTW, creatine in and of itself won't increase muscle growth. It increases "burst strength" so maybe you can get that last rep in and also (supposedly) aids in recovery so your workouts can be a little more intense. It's not going to help much with higher rep workouts or at all with cardio. Your muscles will be retaining more water, so they may seem to be a slight increase in bulk. Oh, and speaking of which, make sure you're drinking plenty of water if you go on the stuff. God, it's been almost five months since I worked out, thanks for reminding me....
  2. The bags themselves will be less of an issue than the actual XX specific mounting system, but I'll check them out, thanks. Mike, yes, still on a Bird, or more correctly, back on a Bird. Thanks for the heads up on David Silver. Factory hard bags seem a little fancy for my application, but if the price is right... Yeah, and the price may not be palatable. What do the Givis and mounts cost? The setup I'm looking at would be $580+ shipping. I checked davidsilverspares and found the mounts for $288 (marginally cheaper than the SWMotech mounts I'm looking at) but the bags themselves aren't listed. Doesn't look like that will end up being cheaper than domestic retail options, but thanks for the heads up. No need to sell me. I had the SWmotech quick release racks with a set of Givi side cases on my ZX-14. I'll never own a bike intended for even casual touring without hard bags again. Not a huge fan of top boxes. I've never liked the idea of any significant weight that high up and that far behind the axle, so I'd always be paranoid about seriously packing a top box full of gear and such. I might end up with one for lighter items, but side cases will be a must first. I've got a possible line on a set of cases via PM, so I may just bite the bullet and go retail for the mounts unless something else pops up here.

  4. Beginning to shop for parts for my recent project, which will be the rat tourer from hell. Definitely not looking for Corbin. Givi preferred but will consider all practical options. Looks/finish not a consideration as long as functionality is there. This is the one thing I'm willing to go retail on, but I figured I'd check here before I spent that kinda coin. 20-30 liter side bags is what I'm thinking, but will consider anything at this point. Thanks....
  5. IIRC, FI camshafts will have a cam pulse sensor on the exhaust cam while carb cams will not. No idea on the numbers. FI exhaust cam w/pulse sensor-
  6. Thanks for looking, but I received another offer via PM, so it appears I'm covered. Sorry for wasting your time.
  7. As the title states, I'm looking for a center stand along with the bolts, spring and whatever else is required to mount it. If you've removed yours for whatever reason, please let me know what you'd want for it shipped to 60540. Thanks in advance...
  8. SOLD. Enjoy it, man, can't think of a better home for it.
  9. John, it's still here. Been busy as hell lately and haven't gotten around to listing it elsewhere. Let me know if you'd still like to come by and take a look. Mark, I've got some other things in the pipe, but I'm done at least for this year. Can't find the time and I was actually getting slower, as if I wasn't slow enough before
  10. Dude, you're a man and a half for even attempting to lose weight and stop smoking at the same time. That's more than most can manage and I've seen your life, it's..intense, to say the least. Your progress thus far is fucking amazing, I couldn't do it with your schedule, not a chance. Keep up what you're doing and think long term, not "when am I done". I managed to lose a bit of weight a couple years ago, but setting myself up to not put it back on was the larger task. Loosing weight is easy (for just about anyone but you, you're still my hero for not being in a tower with a rifle, never mind losing weight), keeping it off is the goal. Cliche time- life changes, not weight loss. BTW, WTF does "too dark to walk" mean? If you wanna move, move. You don't need a $700 machine to do it.
  11. Bump. Found the lap timer. Now that I'm back from vacation it's going to go up locally and on the WERA classifieds, so if you're interested speak up. I'm willing to hold it for members here if there's serious interest but scheduling/finance/transport issues prevent anything immediate.
  12. Thanks for the kind words, guys. Troy, I'll swing by CLSB and see if my login still works, it's been years since I was there. Thanks for the tip. John, I hope it's sold by then, but I ain't in a particular hurry. If it's still around, I'd love to "keep it in the family", so to speak.
  13. Bump for price reduction. Come get this thing, I need the space.
  14. No, thank you. Looking forward to getting my hands on this thing. See you Sunday.
  15. I'll take it. I've been wanting a new project and this sounds perfect. PM incoming....
  16. IIRC, the 900RR shock is around 3/4" shorter and requires a hefty shim to maintain rear ride height. I seem to recall Vern (xrated) was one who did this years ago, pretty sure he'll have specifics.
  17. 2003 SV1000 track bike, Ohio junk title- this bike CANNOT BE TITLED FOR STREET USE, period. Not salvage, not rebuild- junk, as in scrap. I don't care if your uncle knows a guy in Sasketchewan who dated a chick at the DMV who once did her brother a favor and got a junk title back on the street, it ain't gonna happen here. This is a track only bike unless you replace the frame. Bought in late 2008 as project bike with ~13,000 miles. Original build documented here. Donor bike was torn down and pretty much completely rebuilt. The next year it was stripped down to the frame for the powder coating and gone over thoroughly again. It has < 10 track days on it since the last tear down and valve adjustment. Odo currently reads 16,247, but that's off a bit due to the gearing (-1 front, +2 rear). Mods- -2006 GSXR 600 front end conversion, 2008 front wheel (lighter), stock valving, sprung for 220-230lbs. -2006 GSXR rear wheel -Brembo 19x20 front master cylinder, R6 monoblock calipers w/Vesrah RJL pads at about 40-50%. -Penke triple adjustable rear shock, again sprung for 220-230lbs. Could use a refresh but not misbehaving badly at all. -Yosh 3/4 system, stainless pipes w/aluminum can -PCIII (downloaded map) -Suzuki equivelent of PAIR valve delete. -Delrin frame, swingarm and front axle sliders. -Billet mini rear brake resevoir -Vortex adjustable rearsets -Vortex keyless gas cap -Vortex clip ons. -Vortex Fairing stay -Custom subframe (okay, it's the stocker that was bent all to hell that I took a sawzall, sledgehammer and a can of spraypaint to) -Ignition delete (no key) -Braided brake and clutch lines. -Custom one-off upper triple w/Scotts steering damper mount, powder coated black, damper included -Frame powder coated red. -Rattle canned black race bodywork. Minor scuffs from a low speed down on the steet in front of my house. -Pazzo brake and clutch levers. -Pirelli Superbike PRO slicks with one (cold and wet) day on them. Practially new and not even worn to the edges, this is a $370 set of tires. -520 conversion with some gearing choices and a new (uninstalled) D.I.D. chain. Left foot peg, left sliders and clutch lever have some rash on them for the same reason as the bodywork, function is unaffected. Bike is far from perfect cosmetically. For a track bike it looks fuggin' great, by street bike standards it's pretty rough- please adjust your expectations accordingly. The suspension is currently all dicked up due to repeated unsuccessful attmepts by both myself and professionals to compensate for the springs now being too heavy for me (I'm 205 now). When I was heavier and the suspension was dialed in, this thing was beautiful. It'd be easy enough to get it back there if you're in the right weight range. If I was to keep it I'd need to pony up and respring/revalve the thing, as you would if you're heavier or lighter than the stated 220-230. Asking $2,800 firm. I've decided I don't have the desire or energy to part this thing out, so this is my absolute bottom line. Also, I can't seem to find my lap timer so it's been removed from the list. Added new chain to list. If the timer turns up it will go with the bike for the $2,800.
  18. What the hell, I'm having a good month, I'll take 'em. Paypal?
  19. How are they size-wise? I hate a pair of huge sunglasses, but I like the looks of these if they're not that oversized 70's looking shit.
  20. How do you adjust ride height? By lengthening or shortening the shock (done via shims on OEM or non-adjustable shocks) and raising/lowering the forks in the triples. If you're going with a completely different front end, it might be helpful to know where you started and where you end up, as even a .25" difference in distance between the axle and the frame can be felt, everything else (sag, spring rate, etc.) being equal.
  21. I wasn't suggesting that measurement as a baseline for sag, but a baseline for ride height so any changes there can be quantified. Sag and ride height are two different things. Related, yes, but different.
  22. Cruisers are a different world and do some odd things with offset to compensate for other odd things done with rake, which is sometimes not even the same angle as the steering head- something you will rarely, if ever, see in a sportbike. Look at the picture and tell me what happens when you increase or decrease offset-
  23. Less offset= more trail. More trail= more stability. The opposite applies as well. Obviously more stability is going to mean slower steering. You're not going to affect rake (beyond potentially dropping or raising the front*) with any OEM triples I'm aware of. *It might be too late, and someone else can always get the number, but I'd suggest getting a stock front ride height number- bottom of the steering tube (frame) to center of the axle with the suspension fully extended. I think the 14 forks are shorter and it'd be nice to know how much you've moved things if/when you have to chase any setup issues. Hobie has a 929, try pinging him for measurements there. All you guys that have done or are doing the mod should put together a no bullshit, info only thread and I can move it to the useful threads section.
  24. Good on you, a cooler full of drinks generates a lot of good will. You'd be surprised how few people bother. BTW, IKO's (I'm assuming Cambridge) are only about 78lbs per bundle.
