  1. Hey Wade, if you are in a pinch and need one really quickly you can take the one off my bike, as it's not in use ATM (needs a fork overhaul).. and just give me the one when your order arrives. Only has a few thousand miles on it, got it from John. Let me know. Is it hard to change the CCT? I am getting conflicting reports. The dealer says 3.5-4 hours labor. That's really due to a bit of a naming issue. The actual CCT is a plate inside the engine that presses on the cam chain. I have never actually seen a documented failure of this part of the bike. What the board traditionally calls a CCT is really a "Lifter Set" that puts pressure on the actual CCT. The is the part that wears out. I have had them that last 30k miles, and some that quit in as little as 6k miles. I've probably been through close to 10 of these things between the XX's what I've owned and the miles I've ridden. Brian: Try winding up the CCT and letting it go again. Sometimes that will quiet it down for a while, IF that's the problem. I've had a similar sound happen when manually turning the CCT too tight. Thanks for the info.
