  2. + 1 on the Kinetico. I installed and serviced them for 10 yrs. Dont fart around with anything else! They are not cheap but they are the best. Have more ? or want more specifics ... ask away.
  3. I tried to access the maps but they are not available . could you fix the glitch so I can download the program and load into my pc III . I have a 2003 bird w/ yosh slipons and factory filter. Thanks Steve
  4. I bought a power commander III. This is not the R or USB model. My bike is an o3 with Yosh slip-ons, stock sparkplugs and factory airfilter. Dynojet does not list a map for my set up. Which map should I load? thanks Steve.
  5. Put one of the bullet hole stickers on it , you will forget about the dent in a day.

    frame plugs

I know everyones going to laugh, but here goes. Go to the hardware store and buy the chrome plugs that are used to cover the holes in a stainless steel sink. The swing arm holes require a 2.5 in plug that only comes with a screw welded in. I took a wire nut, pushed it into the swingarm axle, marked it, cut it off and then drilled and taped the wire nut. Tap the wire nut back into the hollow swingarm axle and then screw the plug in. All this sounds cheesy but they look and work great. The smaller ones just press into the frame holes. Total cost $12.00 Hope this helps Steve
  7. Dude, I just realized something. You have a 97' XX right ?? If you do, it's going to get a bit more complex. Your bike is carbed , not injected. You shouldn't be doing a dry shot on a carbed bike. You'll need to do a wet kit with fogger nozzles (4). The plumbing gets a lot more involved when you go that route. You'll need a small fuel pump, a fuel pressure safety switch, a arming switch and a hit switch, and a few other little things. Being that my bike is an 01' , I can use a dry shot safely up 30 hp. The AIT sensor will see the instantly cold air charge ( when on the spray ) and will richen up the mixture. I can also adjust the map on my PCIII so as between 7K-11K , it can run a given percentage more rich to compensate. + 1 on that , no dry noz on carbed models less you want to look for a new motor afterwards!!!
  8. I have yosh oval slipons on my 03 bird. Its way to quiet. How do I make them slightly louder without ruining them. How do you remove the second baffle? Would it be better to just remove some of the packing? I dont want D&D loud but I atleast want to hear it. Any advice on "how to" would be of great help. Thanks Steve..
  9. Find a fat wench to sit on the pillion until finished!!
  10. Went for a ride today. Bike started at home just fine. Rode 15 miles, got off and the bird wouldnt start. one crank and dead. I pulled the 20 amp headlight fuse thinking it might start then... Nope 2 cranks and dead!! Bump started in 2nd gear, rode home w/out headlight fuse in. Put fuse back in at home. bike has started perfectly since.. What gives Bike is a 2003 blackbird. What do you all think????
  11. You guys got BIG BALLS!!! I have chrome rims on my 03 bird. I got a nail in my rear tire. It almost sickened me to think of some dumbass fucking my rim up on a tire machine while fixing the flat. I couldnt imagine doing it w/ tire spoons w/ out scratching it up Steve..
  12. Fairing are not real hard to fix. Take your time, use a plastic welder or soldering iron from the back side to melt the plastic back together. Then resin and fiberglass matting to reinforce so it doesnt re crack from heat or cold. Any bare plastic to be painted needs to be covered with etching primer before paint (This is very important) You can get a can of paint bonder from an auto body store. this is applied just before the paint 10-15 min, but over the dry primer. This is just an added precaution. If you want to know the exact name of the bonding agent let me know and I will get the name for you. My buddy wadded my bike last year. This is how I rebuilt it and it turned out great. I didnt mention body filler and such because I figured you knew atleast that much. Hope it turns out ok Steve..
