  1. I'll have pics of my HS-1 single seat/cowl unit from Germany hopefully this weekend. Howie
  2. De-link the fucking thing, put on some good s.s lines and new m/c with 5/8" bore, bleed like regular brakes , throw all the linked crap in a box and live happily ever after
  3. Well I just took delivery of my long awaited HS-1 single seat/rear cowl unit. The fit and finish was well worth the wait. Those krauts certainly do make a quality product. Will post some pics asoo as I can. Howie
  4. Your statement regarding me possibly needing a cruiser isn't even worth responding to. Ask Hugo how I ride. Or better yet, next time your in Northern Cal. just look me up and we'll go for a ride
  5. Hokie, I got all the line parts are from a local race shop that selles Goodridge and Earl's brake line components. The reason for the mix is that Goodridge doesn't or didn't sell the juntion piece I needed. I did use Goodridge -3 line though. VERY IMPORTANT: I ASSEMBLED THE LINES THEY ARE NOT A KIT. SO EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE CUT TO PROPER LENGTH AND ASSEMBLED, JUST LIKE IF IT WERE A RACE BIKE SET UP. As for the Master Cyl. and lever I sourced those from Japan as I have a very good connection over there, however, I believe the lever can be gotten in the states but the m/c must be gotten from Japan or Europe. I can help with part numbers and email addresses and contact names etc.. The M/C and lever look completely stock. You can see pics of the set up at photoisland.com, user- xrdracer, p/w-sydiebit31795 Cheers, Howie
  6. Yep, I de-linked, and woun't ever put the stock crap back on. I am about $750 poorer, but I used all A/N anodized aluminum fittings from Goodrige with black coated line and replaced the Master, which is a must for proper feel and it gives more powerfull braking Howie
  7. Hi Gents, Here are the part numbers for the M/C and lever required to replace the stock items. The lever is available from your local rip-off Honda dealer, I believe. However the M/C is not. You must out source it from either Japan or Europe. You can probably get it through David Silver Spares in the U.K., sales@davidsilverspares.co.uk , tell them Howie sent you. Lever P/N : 53170-MBW-006 M/C P/N : 45510-MY9-871 Cheers, howie
  8. I keep hearing all this stuff about Mobil 1 being so superior and hold it's viscosity etc. But what about it's shear capabilities ? Bike specific oils are manufactured with that in mind. I've been using Bel-Ray oils (Synthetic and Dino) for the last 20 odd years in all my bikes with nothing but excellent results and no failures due to a lubrication issue, and yes, that includes Moto-X, Class C, Superbike and Formula 1 racing way back when. I would like to see some test results showing how Mobil 1 stacks up against products such as Amsoil, Motul, Bel-Ray, Silkolene etc., high end, bike specific oils. Anyone have a link ? Howie
  9. I just spooned on some Pilot Roads and love 'em. Haven't been able to push them yet as it has been raining here quite a bit which has cut down on riding, but very stable, a bit more force required for turn-in than the old 100X due to different front profile. I'm using the Roads as I need more than 2-3K miles out of a set of tires, and besides, in my opinion, anyone who thinks they need Pilot Sports or similar for street duty on an X is mistaken. It all comes down to set-up. Howie
