  1. Damn Deac and Redd!!!

You guys better knock it off!!!

We already have enough fake drama between DBLXX and Aimless XX...

We don't need any REAL drama!!!

Serioulsy, Redd I hope everything is ok with you.

And Deacon...I knew about Lacy and each time I heard about it again it always makes me send good thoughts your way...

    Keep us posted you two!

    Stay healthy everyone...

  2. Honestly...

With the chinese food yesterday and drinking last night...I had no motivation to weight in...

On Thursday I was up 2 lbs. so let's go with that number...

    Yeah me!!!

    :icon_dance:

    :icon_razz:

Congrats to everyone who continues to lose!!!

A lb. is still a loss...

    Well done!!! :icon_clap:

I hope to be joining you soon!

  3. I know it's a lot of cardio, but it's a common training plan for someone who is racing as much as I will be this spring and summer...

Doing the different exercises is a different workout and not as hard on your body as running every day...

I don't know my body fat...

Do you have a scale that measures it???

How accurate do you think it is???

    Was it expensive???

    Maybe I should get one...

  4. No weight training...

    I don't have time...

I am just doing cardio (I am training for half-marathons, triathlons, etc.) so I swim, bike, and run.

I've done this type of intense training before, but it was a couple summers ago...

Yeah....I'm sure I need to drink more water...I bet that would help.

  5. LOL!!! I LOVE that cartoon!!!

The scale does make you cry....but mostly discouraged!!!

I appreciate all the kind words of support...

I guess with my current training schedule I'm not as worried about my weight...

I KNOW it will start to drop since I will be working out at minimum an hour per day for 6 days per week...

I was just frustrated...and REALLY hungry...I'm not sure if I was getting enough calories...

Back to the gym tonight...swimming for 30 min and biking for 50 min.

    Thanks again everybody!!!

    :icon_biggrin:

  6. Ok...I'm kinda giving up...

This week I started training REALLY hard again (8 mile run on Monday, 1 hr bike on Tuesday, 5 mile run on Wednesday, and so on).

I have been eating really well and I weighed myself this morning...

    Up 2 pounds... :icon_confused:

    So...today I ate Chinese for lunch... :icon_nono:

I'll still play along and continue to weigh in, but I'm losing hope of beating anyone...

  7. Plus...I am starve myself.

    Not really...but I skip a lot of meals !!!!!

    Not good Dave... :icon_naughty:

    Not good at all...

    You still need to eat...

Friday's weigh-in... Up .5~1lb. :icon_eh: . Don't really get it as I've been working out with cardio and weights. I worked out for 2.5 hours at a time, twice this week. This just sucks. I think I'm getting bigger, not smaller :icon_frown:

    ...and hungry as hell!

It's difficult to know what is happening with your body, but I'll go with the "your gaining muscle mass" point of view...

Actually, if you have recently started working out again, that is probably the truth...

But it sucks to hear.. :icon_wall:

Keep at it...you should see some weight loss in the next couple of weeks...

  8. Unfortunately...you're probably just getting older.

As we age our metabolism slows meaning that we can longer eat the same foods and stay the same weight...

OK.....now you sound just like my wife Melissa.....she just told me the same thing the other day!! :icon_eek: I'm hitting the big 35 in June :icon_hand: :icon_nono:

Sorry about sounding like your wife... :icon_redface:

Only other thing I'm thinkin' it could be, is that for about 3-5 months last year I was running about 3.5 miles one day, then lifting the next. Weight was still hanging around 245......wasn't losing anything really, but thought maybe I was seeing/feeling some changes in the mirror. Got sick in between Thanksgiving/Christmas & quit for about month or 2. Have picked the running back up last few weeks, though not at the same distance 'cause of the increased weight. Knee has been bothering me again afterwards too.

Anyway.........quit that about 4 months ago, but wondering if my sudden weight increase the last 6 weeks or so is tied to that............delayed reaction???

    Er....umm....

    I'm guessing that's probably it!!!

You used to be working out and now you're not, but still eating the same...

Ding, ding, we have a winner! :icon_biggrin:

Seriously, I think exercise is the key to weight loss.

If exercise feels too hard on your body, then you should focus on losing a few pounds by just eating better.

Then, once you've lost a little bit of weight 5-10 lbs., get started with exercise again...

That's what I did and I feel much better even after only losing 6 pounds so far.

  9. I'm beginning to wonder if there's something wrong with me. In the last couple months I've been gaining weight like CRAZY!!! And I don't think I'm eating any worse than I have previously

    Unfortunately...you're probably just getting older.

As we age our metabolism slows meaning that we can longer eat the same foods and stay the same weight...

If you're concerned about it, I would go get a physical which is always a good thing to do anyways before starting a new diet/exercise regime.

    Hang in there!

    We're here for you!!!

    :icon_wink:

  11. Suzi...fitday

I don't know if fitday has a membership fee, but I really like Weight Watchers online.

    Only $15.95 a month...

Plus...be careful about ONLY watching calories and not paying attention to fat consumption...

    Tyzo....

Weight can be a bad way to guage progress....but if you have alot to lose it can be helpful.

Weight can fluctuate many pounds a day!

Here is an article....about why if anyone wants to read.....to understand why your scale may be lying to you....

    Why the scale lies....

Agreed. I think this is just a fun way for all of us to get motivated to lose some weight and get back into shape...

I'm really thinking that maybe I should join you all... :icon_redface:

I jumped on the scale last night and went... :icon_eek:

I'm check again a couple of more times and let you know what I plan on doing.

Keep up the good work everybody. And so far I think Richard Cranium has given the baest advise...

5-6 "small" healthy meals a day, with the emphasis on low fat protien, fruits and vegtables, and lots of water or unsweated tea.

    DO IT!!!!

    Join the fun!!!
