  1. If this is something the fuel injected models are capable of (PGM injection) , just exactly what was Honda referring to? I doubt Honda would claim the injection (ECU) can be "tuned" or reprogrammed  using aftermarket devices like a Power Commander.

I contacted GUHL performance in Ephrata , PA and asked them about doing a reprogram on my '01's ECU. I was told they couldn't help due the bike being too old. They also do NOT recommend using a Power Commander because they will eventually fail. I did have an older unit fail on a Kaw. GPz 750 Turbo at least 15 years ago. Left the bike in limp mode.

With my latest XX, an '01, already having a full Akrapovic system on it when I bought it recently, I'd like to think there is some way to reprogram my ECU so I can get the most out of the upgraded exhaust and not run the risk of it running lean .Don't  know how long the system has been in use on this bike, hopefully there are no burnt valves.

  2. I sold my custom purple '03 to a guy in Conn. who then sold it on ebay I believe. Not sure where it ended up. Have missed it all these years! Wish the economy was better back then as I definitely would have kept it.

Turns out the rear fender is fine, but I need both front foot peg assemblies. Last owner installed after market alum. adjustable ones that are lower. There is physically nothing wrong with them, in fact I'll probably remove them and put them up for sale here. I just liked the stock ones and want that look . A even trade for nice stockers anyone?

Also, if I can get the Akropovic head pipes better aligned with the collector so the pipes don't come in contact with the lower fairing, I'll need a replacement right side lower fairing panel. The one on there now has had a section removed to make room for the pipes . No need or any specific year or color, or even a nice scratch free one. It'll be sanded, primed and repainted anyway.

  3. After careful inspection, the rear fender on the bike is actually all there and in pretty good shape. After not owning an XX since 2010, I forgot how far down the rear of the fender goes. At first I thought the bottom had been cut off.

I definitely still need both front foot pegs however.

I'd still like a factory center stand too, but I need to determine if it will work with the current exhaust in place.

  4. Just bought another XX, this time a nice 2001 model. It came with after market foot pegs. I want OEM ones. Need both side with the springs and pins.

If you have a pair of pegs, please contact me here or my email, slsautorest@hotmail.com

  5. Just over 5400 miles.Beautiful 2006 GM "Wave Blue" paint job. $600 in chrome, excellent over-all condition. More comfortable than an XX to most, as much low-mid range torque as an XX. Dual counter ballancers, 6 speed, water cooled, fuel injected. Always garaged.Asking $5K or best resonable offer. Can deliver up to 200 miles one way from my location for $1.00 per loaded mile + any tolls. Title in hand.

  6. Sweet looking swingarm, certainly shiny :icon_biggrin:

Also wondering if you could shoot some clear over it to protect it? Would think the smooth surface wouldn't allow the paint to stick to it..

oh you also got a hole in the knee of your pants. :icon_whistle:

I've asked my shop's paint supplier what clear would work best to protect polished alum items, he said perhaps a clear acrylic enamel "might" stick, but wasn't real sure. I've tried my polyurathane catalyzed clear but it dosen't stick well enough :icon_neutral: At least if a scratch turns up, not a big deal to polish it out.

I thought blue jeans with various holes were the fad? Guess if you are a young female with a great bod they are the way to go, not when your a 56 year old man though :(

  7. For sale are three rare, out of production XX Tee shirts from at least 10+ years ago! Turn One made these and when I owned my '99 XX (back in 2000), I bought two of the "Here's salt in the Wound" style and one of the more basic XX ones. Last picture shows the front of both styles. All three just washed. No imperfections or fading. Only worn a few times. All three are size Large. $10 for 1, $25 for all 3 plus actual shipping cost (no "handling" fee).
