  1. I'm assuming you've changed the oil filter as well?
  2. What I have done with my car K&Ns, assuming it's summer time, is set them on top of my air conditioning condensor (the fan thingy outside the house that blow hot air  ). It's not too strong of a breeze and it's nice and warm.
  3. My '97 doesn't have ram-air.
  4. Question on that D-shaped pilot adjustment screw: Should I take the screw all the way out and spray carb cleaner in there? Is it okay to take this out or will a bunch of stuff fall apart or something? I've done my main and pilot jet and emulsifiers already.
  5. First off, thanks for everyone's help! I pulled each bowl off and sprayed out the main jet and pilot jet with Gumout and compressed air. Also did the holes on the emulsion tubes. Everything looked clean but 2 of the pilot jet orifices MAY have been partially blocked. I also sprayed Gumout into all the ports in the venturi bores. Did I miss anything? Is there a special tool available for those D screws? I tried needlenose and tweezers. I can get them to move, but it's gouging up the brass a little. I pulled one plug and it didn't look too bad. I'll probably just replace them while I'm in there. They were barely even torqued in. Just a slight nudge with a small wrench popped 'em out. Is that all the torque they need? Sorry for all the Qs- this is my first time tearing into this bike. I must say it was much easier getting to the carbs on my 750 Nighthawk!
  6. I have a '97 BB with 5800 miles on it. The bike sat for a few years and I just recently started riding it again. I put Stabil in it before it sat for all that time so I was able to restart it after all that time and it's rideable. But it seems to sputter a little off idle and doesn't seem to have as much power as I remember. I've pulled the carbs and am in the process of cleaning them. I saw something on here about a D shaped screw that I should turn out 3 turns. How do I turn that? Also should I check the spark plugs, and can I change them from the carb side or do I have to pull the radiator like the owner's manual says. Thanks!
