Thank you guys. He and his wife drove down from close to Philadelphia, PA and trailered it back. His wife told Peggy that he didn't hardly sleep last night at the hotel because he was so excited. Nice couple and he's go 10+ years of riding several different larger bikes, so it should be in good hands.

I originally put a Throttlemeister on the bike when I first bought it, then had to get a little fancier.....and I installed the AudioVox CCS100. It worked very well for several years, and was on the bike when Peg and I did the Iron Butt ride back in 2011, talk about nice having it. I did sell the Throttlemeister though, after installing the CCS and making sure that it worked as planned.....so yes, a throttlemeister is an option, just not as nice as the full blown Cruise Control.

Hi John, I would say that the cruise could be repaired or simply just replaced with another one. I honestly don't know what the problem is with it, and have not investigated it. I just don't ride the bike enough anymore to make it a priority for fixing it. I hope you are right Tim.....I've got it on the ST Owners forum and gotten quite a few views, but no interest so far. I may have to bite the bullet and go ebay, although I've not had real good luck selling motorcycles on there......and I HATE Craigslist.

I am selling my 2008 ST1300, as I don't spend much time riding it anymore. I have another street bike and a track only bike and much of my spare riding time is spent on those. I purchased the bike with approx. 6000 miles on it in Aug. or Sept. or 2008 from the guy that bought it new. It has been well maintained and we've enjoyed it a lot, including a 1035 mile Iron Butt...2 up with my wife in 2011. So, with some hesitation, but knowing it's the right thing to do, as it just doesn't get ridden much anymore, it is going up for sale. The bike has never been down, and so no issues there. The following is a list of addons that are on the bike. * Honda Pan European Top Box, that is the same color of the bike.... from David Silverspears. I added a set of LED lights to the back of the box and they function as taillights and brake lights. The brake lights flash 5 times then come on solid red. * MCL original switchblades * MCL handlebar risers w/12VDC acc. outlet and a 1" Ram ball * Cortech Magnetic Tank bag that has been wired with a terminal strip for 12VDC. There is a power port in there also. This is where I fed my heat controller for the Gerbing heated clothing that I have (Clothing and controller not for sale) * Fresh oil and filter change on 7/8/2017 (today). I have always used Mobil 1 15W-50 oil and Honda filters since I've owned it. * There is an installed CC100 Cruise Control on the bike, but it stopped working about 2 years ago, and I've not tried to find out why. It's there is the new owner wants to try and get it working. * BOTH the front and rear seat have been Spencerized. That was done several years ago and is still a very comfortable ride. * Tires. Front and Rear Tires have the Michelin Pilot Road III on them and they will need replacing in probably the next 1000 to 1500 miles. * Brakes: Front brakes have probably 35%, maybe 40% left, and I would plan on replacing them whenever you feel that they are needed. * Brakes: Rear....good condition and the bike did have the recall done several years ago that involved the Secondary Master cylinder.....Zero issues since. Present mileage on the bike is at 30,409 and everything on the bike works as it should, with the exception of the Cruise Control, as mentioned above. Mileage is 15K or so Below the average on KBB and the bike has NEVER been down....it just simply needs a new home to someone that can and will ride it instead of hanging out in the garage most of the time. Price: I would like to get $6999 for it, and I'm not interested in parting out any of the bits and pieces off of the bike. My location is in the Knoxville, TN area. As far as I know, it held up just fine. We just got home Sunday night about 9:30 after spending the weekend in Bowling Green for a track day event. So far so good. Update.....I just heard about the storms that passed through the area on Saturday night. I guess they went North of our house. Lenoir City is probably 20 miles from me as the crow flies. We were in Bowling Green and Saturday night they were predicting high wind, damaging hail, lots of lightning, and heavy rain. Well, the system kind of split and one section went North of us and the other part went South of us. We got enough wind though that the Toy Hauler was definitely moving around a bit, even with the stabilizers down and planted. No hail either....I guess we got lucky up there and at home.....no damage in either place.

Not exactly a gravel drive, but a gravel landing pad for our new Toy Hauler. Approx. 14' wide and 40' long. The carport was obviously added after the gravel bed was put down and is the new home for the T.H......

It's just a simple "slip hook" vs. the type of hook whose opening is just wide enough to go over one link and not let the next link slide through.

When I installed the Baxley wheel chocks in the floor of my trailer, I put the chocks were I need them and drilled the holes in the floor. Then I put carriage bolts up through the holes from the bottom of the trailer and nutted them on the inside. The Baxley chocks sit down over the top of the "studs" sticking up through the floor and then they are secured with "wing nuts". That makes them easily removeable if needed.....like for a chock in the paddock.

A P.A.I.R. valve has absolutely nothing to do with the hydraulic brake system. A P.A.I.R. valve is a system for inducting extra air into the exhaust of a motorcycle to help burn any fuel that wasn't burnt in the engine and to clean up the emissions from the engine. Are you thinking of the proportioning valve?

Thanks Tim......that pretty much confirms what I've been told. I did see quite a bit of difference with just the R6 calipers though, although it surely helped that I was using the Vesrah SRJL-XX pads.........those pads are incredible.

Just as a reference point, I bought a 2008 GSX-R750 in October for a dedicated track bike. The gixxers are not known for having great brakes, and I'm a monster on the brakes while on the track. A good friend of mine who has lived pretty much of his track day life on the GSX-Rs told me that the best improvement/cost effective method I could do for the bike was to put a set of '08 Yamaha R6 calipers on (you have to buy a set of spacers for them) and then put an R6 or late model R1 master on the bike. I got the R6 calipers on before my first track day last Oct., but didn't get the R1 master until the track season was over. The R6 calipers made a huge difference (Vesrah SRJL-XX pads) and over this winter, I'll be putting the 2014 R1 Master on the bike.........and yes, it's a Brembo made master for Yamaha.
