  1. I looked for one at WAL-MART yesterday when I picked up a inner tube for the dirt bike. Couldn't find a single one of them. I'm going to try Advanced auto or another automotive type shop for one.
  2. i agree this is more of a garage topic. I'd try there.
  3. if thats mounted and balanced then where do I sign up. Don't laugh I've been to smaller bike shops where they just mount the tire. they dont worry about balancing them. Makes me wonder who I will take my bike to.

how do you ride? Don't take offense to this just asking to help you out. Do you ride WOT all the time? Slow and with traffic never really winding the bike out? A slight mixture of both but leaning towards one or the other? Be honest. The reason I ask is maybe there is some carbon build up in the engine. Does the Bird run hotter than it used to? Has your mileage decreased noticebly from the day you bought it? How did the plugs look when you changed them; Black, white, scorched, normal, pieces missing? I'm not really in depth on this bike just yet but does the Bird have a lot of emmisions crap on it? Like a charcoal filter, or PCV valve. I've seen cars in our shop that look great on the outside (engine wise) but run like crap. Tear them down and you could literally fill a gallon bucket with carbon and suite (sp?). Just some food for thought. I doubt it even has anything to do with it....
  5. black hole 2 rider 0 The same thing happened to me but I'm not detered so easily. I took off all the plastics and found that little sucker. It was lodged between the ram air intake and the bottom of the cowl. Man, I'm getting good at taking off those plastics. Only an hour and a half to replace them all. Next time I do it for the record time!!!! I have all my metric allen wrenches in hot stand-by.
  6. i think you posted in the wrong area. But I'll help. The bottom 4 just screw in no nuts. take all of them out (6). Carefully pull the screen up and out. the middle ones have metal inserts and the bottom ones have threaded rubber inserts. hope this helps.
  7. you guys with the shacky instrument panels. Have you evey taken the inner plastic pieces around the gauges off? If you have look and see if the clips on the side of the panel is actually hooking on to those outside plastic pieces. Its a PITA (pain in the ass) to get it in all the right spots but I found it doesn't move as much when its actually where it is supposed to be. Oh, I checked those little rubber pieces too and they were a little loose as well. hope this helps.
  8. ok i have to ask is this mobile 1 the full synthetic or the synthetic blend. Pardon my ignorance. I really need to know I'm getting ready to change my oil soon. thanks
  9. dont know about yours for sure but I had this same problem on my 99. It turns out that under the front fairing, just under the headlight, is a little square piece of plastic(about 3 inches by 4 inches). This POS rattles no matter what. One day I was out riding and hit a bump and thought something is wrong it didnt rattle. Got home and it had blown off somewhere on the trip. I dont even know why it was there in the first place other than cover up a huge hole honda decided to leave in the fairing. I'm not worried about replacing it anytime soon either. later
  10. i don't know what you all are talking about.......
