  1. Yes, thats most likely the cause.
  2. The bike has been sitting for about a year or so. Decided I was going to get it ready to take the OzarkXX. Bought new tires, brake pads, spark plugs, started getting everything ready. Found that number one cylinder was full of coolant. Now to decide whether to rebuild or just buy another XX and use this one for parts. Or part it out and buy something else. Fuck.
  3. Mine may flow unevenly as well, but with the limited space available not many choices.
  4. Interesting thread considering I've been sitting around this evening contemplating ways to make the plenum on my XX flow more smoothly.
  5. Mine did 200 verified with GPS. I'm running a turbo pushing 18psi and generating about 275hp. I'd have to say it ain't possible with a stock bird and different gears. WAY TOO MUCH wind resistance.
  6. You'd probably regret selling it even if you sold to someone on the board. I think about selling the turbo XX now and then. Never seems to happen even though I never have time to ride it anymore.
  7. Damn. I'm a half hour away in Dover and I just now saw the post.
  8. Nothing really happened. The injectors still function fine I did increase the injector pulse duration via the PCIII. I think the idle may be a bit rougher than stock. Probably due to poor atomization at the lower pressure. Yep, I tried all kinds of different configurations when I set it up. Like you said it's all a trade off. Currently I'm running Honda S2000 injectors (see http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5760) They meant that I didn't have to increase fuel pressure or pulse duration as much as the stock injectors would have required under high boost.
  9. I'm running the Bell Multi-role FPR. The pump is external. When I set this up I read that injectors start suffering and risked possible failure past 100lbs, using your formula I'd be at 122lbs of fuel pressure. Whether the failure bit is true I don't know but I set my fuel pressure at around 27lbs at idle with a maximum of 90lbs or so at 18psi boost. I noticed recently that idle pressure had dropped somewhat and then it just crapped out and went to 18 lbs few days ago. Heres a link to a pump through Summit that meets the pressure requirement Pump
  10. Hank what electric pump are you guys using? Mine crapped out on me so I need to look into a replacement.
  11. Your exhaust pipe has a hole in it.
  12. No. I've had a '97, a '00, and a '02. Never had any real issues with any of them. Did have a leaky water pump once but nothing that left me stranded. Sure you can watch the RR connection if you want, but you'll get bored waiting for something to happen. I loved my carbed version but the FI is smoother and like someone said changing performance is a simple matter.
  13. So what kind of compression ratio will the head gasket result in? What controls the fuel pressure? Nice looking kit by the way.
  14. Who has used a data logger? Were you happy with the brand, model, functionality, ect. I'm looking to buy so any input would be appreciated.
  15. Graham or Hank, any idea how the header on this kit compares configuration wise to that of the piece of crap hahn header. I intended to build my own but yours looks pretty good.
  16. I noticed a slight, maybe 10hp, gain when I replaced the hahn 2 1/4" crap with the stainless contraption I made. It's a full length set up 2 3/4" at the turbo then flairs to 3" after the first bend with a 3" Supertrapp on the end. The restriction on mine appears to be the crap hahn header.
  17. Well I suppose it's about time with 30k+ on the clock. Today the bike exhibited all the signs of a bad reg with voltage slowly dropping as I rode. Luckily I made it home before the speed-o went hay wire. Any ideas on where to find one for a decent price?
  18. Hey Jon I think I have one at home. I'll be back mid week and let you know. Seems like mine had about 5000 miles on it when I switched.
  19. My thoughts too. Knew someone whose Goldwing did the same thing with the new Mobil1
  20. Congrats on the bike Dean. I rode that one around a few miles at OzarkXX and was suitably impressed.
  21. Hank I don't remember modifying anything, seems like it just swapped out.
  22. Either clutch will work unless you have a lock up. Difference is just the number of steels and disks. To stop slippage I ran a '98 clutch in my '02 turbo before I went with a Falicon billet job. Wanted the higher number of steels and plates in conjunction with heavier aftermarket VTX springs. It worked, no more slips past 235hp.
