  1. "Another side track, yes the 'bird is slimmer than a Busa or the ZX-14 but their fairings do a better job of getting the rider out of the wind, hence the 5-8 mph advantage of the Busa over the Blackbird. That big hump is back there for a very, very good reason. The current crop of GP bikes are capable of 200 mph but they are a heck of a lot smaller and more aerodynamic than a Blackbird with right at 180-190 RWHP."... ....................... :icon_think: ........................I know according to all the bias publications last few years the data can be convincing. Most riders are 200 lbs close to 6 feet, i'm 165 @ 5'9 and hide quite well under the stock windscreen. Honda's developement's over the past 40 years is more secretive than Area 51. Got to be something special happening between the intake plenim and P.F.I. system at high speeds for my bike to run like it does. If you were to force 170 mph wind into the intake while on the dyno would the hp go from 140 to 170?......Them new 1000cc bikes ARE much lighter and more hp BUT they are designed and built for more power coming out of the corners, bottom end, couple of them will pull away from me a few bike lengths for a while but I usually reel them in when I get into high gear as they get out of their environment!................
  2. 3500 miles between oil changes? Poor Honda!
  3. I live in Palm City, 35 miles north of West Palm. if your Akra fits then I guess I'm responsible for them making it work after my miserable experience with them. The Importer in California I bought it from later said I was the first person to buy one of them and apoligized for the inconvenience. Tjad Staerk, ( forgot proper spelling but close ) the engineer that designed the system and sent me the fake computer generated Dyno Chart from Slovania I think determined it WAS installed corectly since there was no physical way to install it wrong from the photo's he requested. Promptly sent me a return label, apology, and full refund!..............This was 2002.
  4. ....................................................So your'e saying you can't keep up with a Stock Busa or a new CBR1000RR, or ZX10?................. I ride back and forth to Port Mayacca from the Shell Station by Moroso all the time with them guys. Do you go to the 200 + mph Speed Gun runs with the Fast Guys on Indiantown Road sunday mornings?????????????????? Oh, i'm sorry, I forgot, motorcycles can't go that fast according to the smart guy's here!.............
  5. TiForce, but it's spendy. If you're on more of a budget, go with the Akrapovic ................................... I bought an Akra. for mine a few years ago after much research, after installing it I realized the fairing needed trimmed after they told me it wouldn't and the entire system needed to be removed to change the oil filter since removing it was impossible as one manifold pipe was rubbing against the oil filter. I never started the engine. I called them and they requested several photo's which I sent, after two more calls to Europe I told him I was presently designing a new website about his exhaust system and technicians that would put a Blackbird on a dyno with the exhaust rubbing the oil filter and make a run with it. In conclusion I told him he was full of crap, that this was some computer designed system that they never physically installed on a bike and that his Dyno results he sent me were boguss, he sent me a return sticker and gave me a full refund. I bought a Two Bro's full system 28000 miles ago and it still runs fine, no rust, still quiet.
  6. ............................200 gps mph ain't gonna happen on a stock anything! BUT, I ain't had any of those STOCK BIKE's outrun mine either, take either one off the showroom floor, put an exhaust on it, at best we'll be side by side from 0-rev limiter in high gear, I been racing them things for 28000 combined miles woth two 02 XX's, never had a "STOCK" ZX or STOCK BUSA walk away from mine, I'm talking "STOCK", buy it, put a pipe on it, drive it, no additional work or Power Commanders, or strap's, or electric shifters or nothing! Buy it, put a pipe on it, drive it, not gonna happen without additional thousands of dollars invested!
  7. I see the bottom end integrity of the XX in question here as well :icon_think: let me see here, if my memory serve's me well, Kent Stotz still holds the mph record for A.M.A. Pro Street Class until he dropped out last year because they changed the rules so Harley could compete with him and Barry Henson's Busa!...500 hp street legal Blackbird over 200 mph in the 1/4 mile...............
  8. Maybe you should just go back to your crack pipe, homey. .............................................................. So I reckon your'e either afraid of twisting the throttle, not interested in going fast, prefer the sexy appearance of two mufflers, or never pulled alongside an 02 XX with a full exhaust system!................homey!
  9. I can't believe what I'm reading here Maybe there IS, as I have suspected, something different about the 2002 XX, on my second one now. I did a full dyno with stock pipes and saw 131hp fall off at 10500 rpm's, next week bolted a Two Bro's full exhaust system on, full dyno again and saw 142hp maintained to 11500 rph into the rev limiter! increase in torque the full range with NO drops or ill effects, huge drop in weight, enormous performance gain. The only bike I haven't raced against yet is a ZX14, a 165 lb rider on a well tuned Busa is side by side with me from 0 - the limiter in 6th gear well over 195 indicated, no ZX12 has ever stayed beside me! Aerodynamic's? the XX is slimmer than it's so called two competitors, just park them side by side and look at them...........................The XX was the first 200 mph motorcycle for sale in the U.S.A. all they did was detune it a few years ago, the PFI wakes up just fine with an exhaust system again!.
  10. I left my front alone went up two on the rear, more efficient and smooth. I was always pulling up on my shifter though looking for 7th gear on my last one. I'll leave this one stock.
  11. I love it, have both sport rack with pack and pack rack with large pack, interchangable and work great.http://www.ventura-bike.com
