  1. Yeah, I saw that in Cycle World. Thanks for the tip though. I know some people would go the whole 105 yards and mount and balance the "tyres" themselves. Would it be really odd to ride it to the dealer and take the wheels off to have them mounted? I might take a random day off Friday. I'm going south for work for two weeks - my manager said I should get some R&R - traveling Sat~Sun.
  2. I ordered the Avon Storms. Now I came back to read this thread. Now I'm having second thoughts. Should have ordered the Pilot Road III's? i.e. I'm the customer from heck.
  3. Bump it once in a while. How much are these new?
  4. rockmeupto125 FiXXation is missing a couple wrenches? I was pretty sure mine was just short of total loss. ...and Fixxation, Thanks for the picture. eBay has NO kits listed right now. ...and as I sit here - something is dawning on me. There was another bag - I thought it was an owners manual - I'll have to check tonight . ....gotta go get my HDL checked right now.
  5. I was out in the frosty garage looking for any random tool kit for a project. The easiest to get at was the one in the bird. As I was taking it out of the little spot under the seat I noticed that the top flap was open. I'm worried I've been raining tools down the road behind me for a while. Hope nothing went through anybody's windshield. Does anybody have a list of what is supposed to be in the stock tool kit please? Thanks, Bill Oh, and the high tech rubber bungee - that went on vacation also..... :icon_shifty:
  6. My humble suggestion - sell the gear separately. ....too bad, none of it would fit me.
  7. Thanks guys - I get way more miles out of tires. I like the comments on th PR3's though. I have to say - they wore very evenly on this 2000 Ti.
  8. I have had a couple sets on the Hurrican' I need something to replace the banana skin on the back for sure. I'm thinking "do them both" for ease/safety. I took a look at JC Whitney, maybe there's a better place to buy like my local mechanic? Anyway, Here are the ones listed. I don't put on that many miles. I occasionally break the back tire loose. 'm mostly highway, but I enjoy spirited twisties, no knee dragging. From your experience, what would be the best sticky-to-wear resistance "tyre"? 1. http://www.jcwhitney.com/avon-universal-av...7199_4294858161 2. http://www.jcwhitney.com/avon-universal-vp...7199_4294858161 3. http://www.jcwhitney.com/avon-universal-vp...7199_4294858161 The current set was well-along when I picked up the bike. I have never ridden on a new Michelin Pilot Road, so I can't compare. Any input? Bonus - anyone with experience on both?
  9. I just got wood. Beautiful bike. How did you like the Corbin?
  10. I've got BT-45's on my CBX. This post gave a little concern: Cracked tires. Dzang! I think I'm going back to Avons.
  11. Good to know. I bought new rotors for the Hurrican' two summers back I paid a pretty penny for parts. It was my understanding that I was getting these floating rotors. I got solid disks. EBC just made a part swap and sent them. I ordered and had them installed a couple days before a ride, if I'd have had them sent back, 'Id have had to ride withe old solid rotors that did have a bad pulse. It always kind of felt like bait and switch. I would think flat pieces of steel should be way cheaper than these assemblies.
  12. Is your Corbin designed for a backrest? I heard you can't retrofit them - the seats need to be factory fit and are not capable of being modified to take a backrest later.
  13. Is it motorcycle season yet?

  14. Ive been thinking about picking up an extra set of mirrors. I scraped paint one my left one. I have a feeling it will be an on-going problem. I try to thread the needle too much. Link from above post.
  15. I just asked myself, (I should stop talking to myself, it costs too much) how hard would that be to shoe-horn into a CB750F swinger. I'd have to mod for the shock/shocks somehow....
