  2. Price sounds right. Not sure why he mentioned the time as it doesn't take anywhere near that long. But that maybe how many hours you were going to be charged. a good custom map can take up to 5 hours depending on how many points the dyno operator works on in the throttle openings my map for my 99 bird took 4 and 1/2 hours and my 05 took 4 and 1/4 hours and was mapped for every 250 rpms up the scale and it was totally a different bike afterwards it pays to have a rear tyre that is not new as it takes quite a few runs to get it right and may square the tyre off prematurely the later dyno jet dyno's have a computer helping to get the map done and also use a variable load cell as well they are far removed from the free run dyno's that dyno jet used to do if done properly your air fuel ratio should be spot on all through the rev range and your fuel economy will change as it is a performance mod that you are doing i paid $560 NZ dollars for the 99 and $540 AUSSIE for the 05 custom map and i watched the 05 map being made it was quite an experience to watch and to see 154 rwhp unfold with a totally linear power curve with no dips many operators will just change a few points in an existing map from the data base but get them to build you a custom map from scratch the difference is chalk and cheese as no two bikes are the same and no two will react to the same mods in the same way dyno jet fly people from all over the world to the states to learn to use their gear properly and the course to learn to build a custom map is over a week long with a practical test on a dyno with a bike with no map and you have to build one from scratch and get within a certain percent of the improvement that the in house technician got i have a mate in sydney that has just done this course in the last year sponsored by his employer
  3. why would you need to remove the header to change the oil when you could just wrap it with a piece of garden plastic ? and keep it clean this way but anyway ceramic coating would be the way to go i did the exhaust and the turbo housing on my STI subaru and it lowered under bonnet temps heaps and it spooled up quicker as well
  4. cheers para hows that ask on an overseas sight and a bloody aussie answers correctly i suppose you are gonna tell me that it is because your TITANIUM bird is faster i should of just pm'd you on oz bb it would of been faster (trex 450se)
  5. one of those stupid washers that honda love to use everywhere that has a small piece of tube attached on one side of the washer around the inner hole usually 5 to 10 mm in length so that you don't squash the item being held in place
  6. many thanks for that BUT what about the small mounts on the bottom of the RIDERS footpegs where the muffler joins the header there is a bolt that is part of the muffler that passes through a small ring which is molded as part of the RIDERS footpegs and has a small rubber grommet in in and it has a cap nut on the outside in pics i can find on the net it has a washer under the cap nut but i don't know if it is a flat washer or a standoff washer as i can't find my manual Cheers James
  7. hey guys i have a 2005 bird that i have just put the std pipes back onto ( it came with an akra 4-2-1) it is all mounted good no probs but i am missing the bolt that goes into the rear most mount on the header system it looks like a single bolt about 8mm i think that goes through a mount on the frame and into the rear of the collector pipes by the mainstand mount can anyone confirm the size and length of this bolt and does it have a washer on or a steel bushing inside the rubber bush it as all i have is a rubber fitting in this mount on the frame also the two mounts on the mufflers that go through the base of the riders footpegs now here i have the rubber mounting bush in the footpegs and the cap nut and the bolt is part of the muffler but do they have a flat washer or a standoff washer under the cap nut on this part as i have no washer at all with the parts i bought if so can anyone tell me the dimensions of the washer or do i have to wait for the stealer to open on monday i really want to go for a ride and any help will be greatly appreciated Cheers James
