  1. When I had mine replaced at the dealership they used EBC HH instead of OEM
  2. Did you see my post where they replaced the strap, gave me a new visor, and had same day turnaround? Sent it out Mon, got it back Friday. new strap, new visor. FREE! Sweet
  3. If any of you guys have your pro oiler installed, what setting(s) work best for you?
  4. On Monday I sent my Quantum/f to the Arai Tech center in PA using UPS ground. (My strap had begun to fray pretty badly) The helmet came back FRIDAY not only repaired, but they replaced the visor!! Mine had the two vents broken off. I had not told them of this problem, I was just too lazy to remove it. I do not think the visor they replaced it with was new, but it was in much better shaoe than mine (2+ years old with some scratches & gouges) :icon_clap: :icon_clap: :icon_clap:
  5. My wife won't let me play with fire Seriously, I am tired of doing that & it keeps getting shorter, duh. I am willing to part w/her for a few days for new shoes
  6. I just sent my Arai Quantum 8 to Pennsylvania to have the strap replaced. It had started to fray and become difficult to fasten. Factory rep told me they had had some problems with them and suspect the vecro on some jackets chafed them. Anyone have this problem? The helmet is beginning its 3rd summer season, and I just couldn't deal with it anymore. A $500 helmet shouldn't have this problem, but the rep didn't bat an eye, said send it in and it would be out the door in 2 days. Love that 5 year warranty! 6 days without riding makes week.
  7. Just a thought.... Consider HID's before the driving lights. You may see that you do not need them. The HID's are THAT good!
  8. I have the Comagination unit on mine. I have it hooked into high beam, HID is low beam. I have the low beam switched, so I do not have to run it during the day. I am sure the modulator makes me annoying as stink on rides. Doug, what do you think? Did the modulator make my ass look fat yesterday?
  9. PRO-OILER! I think there is going to be a group buy soon. I have one, and love it. NOT "piss-easy" to install, but I did it with little trouble. It uses a pump to oil the chain.
  10. Mini's & BMW's come from the factory now with synthetic. Mini won't even change my oil before 12,000 miles on the last one.
  11. Well, hell, Knoxville isn't that far away.....Come on over & I can help some Sunday. I have had my panels off 3 or 4 times now, and it is a cinch now that I have found a hex driver that fits on the end of my screwdriver/drill. I know the part of the trace you are talking about. Man, you are Crazy getting on it on a BB....imPOSSIBLE to do 50! Good luck on the CCT! Philip
  12. There is a wizard in there....leave him alone when he is working....
  13. We had a long thread a year or so ago about this, and a few members had theirs mounted in the cone. Directions indicate that the less attenuation the better, but it must not be that bad, since they are usually mounted behind the windscreen anyway, and that is no thinner than the nosepiece. Also, since it is enclosed, the plastic over the sensor might be able to be removed, and that would negate the attenuation effect. Sounds like a plan to me. I may buy one to hide underneath. If I do, I will run it with my passport & give a real life side by side comparison.
  14. How many pharmacists does it take to screw in a light bulb? Well, 2, duh! But they both have to be real small
  15. Same here...I just put mine back on the other night, not really paying attention, but I do not remember any washers going on. Will check tamale.
  16. anchiu35@hotmail.com This is the guy from the FJR board that handled the group buy, I think. Any way, it is where I got mine & flitemedics. He was straightup and quick with me. We got the 6K bulbs AWESOME AWESOME You will not regret it, that's for sure!
  17. Opinions on windscreens, please? Putting clothes on her this week, and MIGHT spring the money for a new windscreen. Old one was cracked in a spill, but I have it "bolted" together. Looking for wind protection mostly, wouldn't mind a cool colour though. Any suggestions or any used ones? Mine is stock, by the way, and I liked it just fine, but I am known to be easily pleased.

    Chain Oilers

I just finished installing my Pro-oiler, and I second warchild....the thing is just superb. Programming it is not an easy task for the math challenged, though. The flexibility of the programming is stupendous! It will oil according to your schedule, AND you can always prime it to get a good slick on. I am going to try today to install an in-line LED to blink whenever the pump is actuated. (just for shits and giggles) As far as routing down the swingarm, I am thinking about drilling small entrance & exit holes for the line. Any of you engineers know why I shouldn't?
  19. Hey, no problem sticking your nose in....great answers, all of 'em. I think I will get those hose gaskets & put them on before I get the nose bolted on
  20. Hey, Duane.... when you put your bulb in, did you use that little foam donut to stabilize it or did you use something else? My bulb seems less stable in the socket than the other bulb. I mean it is OK, just not as rock solid as the other one. Also, the big rubber boot does not fit as well. Am I missing anything here? BTW, I routed the power through a rocker switch so I can power it down. Didn't want to wait ona "euro" switch.

    HID Installed!

Oh, so since I got the 6K, it will burn down to like the 4300?

    HID Installed!

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!!! :icon_shocked: :icon_shocked: :icon_shocked: SWEET JESUS THAT IS A COOL LIGHT!
  23. Thanks, guys.....right you are, run 'em wrong and ballast won't pop off, but does blow the headlight fuse. Problem solved! That euro switch sounds like the way to go, perhaps I should see where I can get one. Does it fit in the stock handlebar assembly? Medic, have you gotten yours in yet?
  24. Started to install HID tonight, but I suffered from not explicit enough documentation. The docs did not indicate any polarity differences for the wires. Does it matter? 20,000V is a lot to guess about. For what it is worth, I am installing on LOW beam, and am going to route power for ballast etc through a switch on the console for switching the whole apparatus down during daylight hours (I am running a daytime modulated high beam)....Any comments or suggestions? My son has suggested that I shove the whole thing up my ass, but I am kind of looking for constructive criticism!

Don't sweat it; they'll gain weight as they get older.
