  1. More or less. There is not a lot of real estate for it. I have the bike pretty stripped right now and the horn is off, I had to make an adapter, I “probably” used plumber’s strap.

  2. Stebel nautilus. Classic loud as fuck. I have one on Blackbird 1. Installation requires a relay, and it has to be mounted upright. It will fit under cowl easily enough. It is loud as fuck.

A key is the thing you leave in the ignition lock to start most liquid fuel powered vehicles.  I can't remember the last time I locked a vehicle door.

Most of my keys have a mechanism whereby energy is stored in the key whenever it gets used, thereby obviating the need for ecologically destructive batteries. It’s like perpetual motion. How cool is that?

    Hahaha!!

I'm removing the door latch actuator, the original latch actuator electronics failed so I'm installing a new actuator.

Amazon.com: Power Door Lock Actuators Front Right Door Latch Replacement Fits for 2001-2005 for Audi A4 1998-2005 for Audi A6 Quattro 2004-2005 for Audi S4 2001-2004 for Audi S6 4B1837016G : Automotive

Can’t you just use the key to unlock the door and save $400 or whatever the new latch actuator costs? My German-engineered and German-made component MIni actuator went tits up about 5 years ago.

Stick the key in, turn it and voila, the door unlocks.

I assume his state has vehicle inspections since he spoke of it.  We don't, except in special cases like resurrecting a salvage.

Right. I was just poking a brother from a northern state. We don’t have them in Tennessee (maybe Nashvile and Memphis). I still have the VA sticker on my bird I bought from him.

The good part is that when it fails again it won't bother you at all 'till you get hit, pulled over, or have to go for inspection again.  It's a cheap part, a normal person would just replace it, I look forward to the next conversation about its failure.

What is this inspection that you speak of?

Any parts store, Walmart, Costco, etc. will test it for free to confirm.

I voted "yes" because it's the easy answer with a 7 year old battery that is showing some signs of a problem and it's what I'd tell anyone unless the battery was tested and showed that it was still good.

He’s in Germany. I’d be willing to bet it is not quite that easy. Or cheap. Dead batteries are probably somewhere between radioactive fallout and Zyklon B in terms of perceived environmental impact.

Azkr, We would love to hear the steps you have to take.

just got it back from my mechanic getting it running. No need for it anymore and wife is asking me to sell it. 5 speed liquid cooled 2 stroke. Street legal. Perfect for the Dragon 50cc run every October I think it is. Just posting here first. See if anyone is interested.

Will it fit on your rig next time you are passing through/close to TN? No way I can get to Orlando. Would be a great bike for the grandkids.

Just to be curious, since I find knives interesting what is the purpose of daily carrying one? Protection?

    Is more like a hobby.

I would think for protection I rather carry a gun and work practical use I rather probably want to carry a multi tool knife.

just looking for some insight and didn’t want to start a separate thread.

    Thanks

My company does not allow most sharps to be used. They have to be spring-loaded and held open and have a dullish plastic blade, so I keep a benchmade bugout in my pocket to cut shit open and to slice my oranges. I face counseling if I am caught. I like living on the edge.
