  1. That set up (trailer and all) is what I use. I do slip a piece of pvc pipe on each grip before putting the Dancer on. It keeps the rubber grip from pulling off.

If you do want the trailer to fold, just cut the plywood were the fold is. It don't hurt a thing.

  2. You guys need new tires, not lowering pressure. My 6.40 pass was full leathers, 38 psi rear, stock length, stock suspension, D&D full system, and 16 front sprocket. Tires? Continental Contiforce. NO BURNOUT either. And no tire spin.

When you lower the bike, it makes the bike want to spin more. I only had trouble when it cooled off late in the night (50's F) and dew everywhere. It's not a lot of fun with the rear end fishtailing across the track.

  3. Very unlikely the K&N caused your problem. I think you still have something unhooked or hooked up wrong.

When I got my 97, I put in a K&N, no stumble. Then slip-ons, no stumble. Then a jet kit, it did run better and removed the flat spot but .......

  4. I have had one on mine for a couple of years. It does run over the junction box on the right side (above fender, line going to the left side). Up top, to the right and left of the triple, I can not get the strap under the lines without bending them up, so it goes over them. Must not hurt anything as I said, it has been two years.

  5. Try loosening the cap assy w/an allen wrench, moving it slightly until the lock opens easily, and retighten. Worked for me. My cap hasn't jammed since.

Nik, if you do this, remember, you have to tighten the bolts really-really tight.

  6. Make it very simple. Put er up on the centerstand, loosen the rear axle nut and get the right amount of chain slack. Now, with the bike in Neutral, spin the rear tire/wheel several times. If the sprocket isn't in the center of the chain links, adjust adjust which ever side needs it. Spin it again. Keep adjusting until after you spin the wheel several times the sprocket in centered in the chain links. DONE!!!

I have found that when I tighten the nut, it changes the setting some. So you have to allow alittle one way or the other.

  7. I just rode my bike today for the first time with the 4 degree advancer. I also added a tooth to the rear so I am not sure which made the difference. Where I could seem to tell the difference was in high gear pulling up a long hill, it really pulled hard. The speedo was at 160 and it was still coming on strong. I heard no pinging but I run 93 gas anyway (no comments please :D ).

  8. I've still got my factory battery in my 98.

I just replaced my factory battery in my 97 last year. It wasn't dead but I think Carlos said that it was hard on the R/R when the battery is getting old and needs alot more charging than a newer one.
