  1. If you were to go the really poor mans route, how about a couple of heavy duty ratchet straps which you already have and use buffers on the edge of the table and a 2x4 across the top to stop bowing?  Actually Swap's HF suggestion sounds like the way to go and then you will have it for future use.

Y'all trying to figure out how to fix it, I'm trying to figure out how it happened in the first place.  Because it seems to me if you find the source, you prevent it from happening again.  If the table is old, the question should be... why?  Is there a structural issue?  Termites?  Humidity drop?  Chuck Norris chopped the shit out of it?  Andre the Giant body slammed your ass on it?

A new table does that, then it wasn't dried properly.  But a vintage table does that and there is a REASON.  Because like Carlos said (almost in passing), that's FORCE.  If that was natural, that shit was LOUD.

Remember when the rearend oil needed changing in his pickup?.......

not sure, here's a pic.  google searching makes me think rs3.

Here is a pic of my RS-3.  They are early ones that are made of aluminum.  I think they went to stainless later.

Just sharing.  It would never have crossed my mind to even look at doing this, until I saw their warning not to do this when I was about to just order their pack.

I guess it's like when I got that prescription drug that would be $1040, and searching for prices, I saw the manufacturer warning people about clones from compounding pharmacies and China.  Wait...I have options!

I didn't ask in a negative way but I would be temped to write them a note calling out their BS about not changing the batteries yourself.

  5. My Explorer also uses 75w140 in the rear but 75w-90 in  the front.  Zero either look in the manual that came with the truck or call or stop in any Ford dealer and ask for parts dept. and ask them.  They will tell you the correct answer and the amount you will need.

Well it did and its now resolved, just wanted to share so it helps someone out that's all.

    Take it or leave it

More information is always good.  Some times things just work.  Thanks for sharing your find.

I use RightStuff Black, but pretty much any automotive sealant will work.

I don't see RightStuff a lot on the shelves in my area but PERMATEX® ULTRA BLACK® RTV SILICONE GASKET MAKER is which I use all the time  just in case he can't find your stuff.

I may be dating myself, but some systems do go without maintenance under NORMAL use.  You don’t replace steering fluid or change the lube in CV joints just because of age or mileage.  I normally expect that items needing maintenance have indicators like drain/fill ports or grease fittings.  Otherwise, you don’t fuck with it.

I just  replaced the power steering fluid in one of my vehicles a couple of months ago.  Most but not all automatic transmissions haven't had a drain plug on them through the years and yet many manufacturers stated that the fluid needed changed.

Sigh.  Where's that head-mount steering damper again.

    Double sigh.

The general rule I’ve been told is to not open things up unless absolutely necessary.  So, no drain hole tells me to not fuck with it.

Do you really believe that gears meshing together for 25 years, 216,000 miles wouldn't benefit from a fluid change?  Why even ask about it if you wasn't going to do it to begin with?
